Just pondering...

There are two things that have been bogging me for some time. I'd be glad if someone could explain them at least in some degree.

1) How do the rock huts in Amity Square work? I've tried going a bazillion times in different directions inside the huts but I don't seem to ever get to collect that one shiny item on that one cliff.

2) What does the Catching Points in Pal Park mean? I think I could get decent scores (my record is 3314 pts. in total) if I scored well in catching points, but I always seem to get something around 300 to 400 points. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong since I expect that this category has similar points available as the other two categories.

1. The huts don't go into the cliff. Addictionally, Assesories are found by pokemon. Talk to it once in a while to get it.

2. The points are based on how rare the pokemon pal packed are, how fast you get them, and type difference. Better points means rarier berry prizes

Now that's not quite what I meant. There is an item (a Poké Ball sprite) and a person on a cliff section which has no stairs or anything, though it has a rocky hut. This is between the lowest part of the park, accessible via the western gate, and the high cliff accessible via the eastern gate. To be sure, I stress that I'm playing Platinum, and Amity Square is different in Pt than in D/P. I think there is at least one similar seemingly unaccessible cliff in the north as well.

As for the points, is this rarity factor the catching point value? That could indeed be possible since I've been moving mainly uncommon and common ones.

I play Diamond, so I can't help you with your hut problem...

But, I've ben migrating some common pokemon, and I've been getting at least 2500.

1. Step into the hut then step right, constantly do this until you've been at every hut.
If there is one you didn't go to step into every hut and step left until you get the hut you wanted to get into.

Or something like that, I don't really know but that's what I've figured from doing it so often.

2. The higher the score that rarer the berry the guy at the entrence gives you. To get a higher score catch the Pokemon faster or send rarer Pokemon to Pal Park (common Pokemon won't get a good score).
