EASTERN ATLANTIC HAS DEVELOPED INTO A TROPICAL STORM ABOUT 1000

FORECASTER FRANKLIN

The only thing that'll end this season is the new year and then we may start next season in in January if this keeps up.

It LOOKS that way, doesn't it?

(And I've just talked with Evan - we're not reopening the Hurricane Forum just yet, but if the 2006 season follows up with an early start, you bet we will)

@.@ Nature has been unraveled!!!!!!!!!! I think that an out-of-season storm has happened before, though. Can anyone confirm this?

1954 - Tropical storm Alice formed on december 30, at 6AM GMT. (But was originaly thought to have formed only two days later - on January 1st, hence the A-name)

This used to be the latest in the season a tropical storm ever formed. Used to be, because this record, just like about every other record in the hurricane book, now bear the mention "until the 2005 season".

Zeta formed nine hours after Alice (well, 51 years and nine hours, but you get my meaning).

To quote a very famous movie line from this year, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" (Darth Vader). I'm tired of this quite elongated hurricane season.
