Thus far, every single region has a gym leader who also has coordinating experience and being a contest master. The first we met was Juan in Hoenn. Then we met Fantina in Sinnoh. And then out of nowhere we see that Jasmine the Steel Gym Leader of Johto is that region's gym leader/coordinator. The obvious choice should have been Whitney who should be a natural for this sort of thing. Now the only region not to have one of these is Kanto. It probably does have it we just haven't heard about them yet. My bets are that its Erika of the Celadon Gym who knows how to arrange flowers and thus should be the obvious choice for it. What are your thoughts on this matter and who do you think Kanto's Gym Leader/Coordinator should be.

I just have the feeling that Lt. Surge is a closet dasparklezholic.

I agree that it would definitely be Erika. Let's go gym through gym:

Brock - breeder
Misty - we know she's just a water trainer
Erika - most likely
Lt. Surge - way too macho
Sabrina - she's too busy being a psychic
Blaine - old fire type sensei, not contest type
Giovanni - too busy leading Team Rocket
Blue / Gary - trainer / researcher only

I agree with HiPS--Erika is cut out to be a coordinator (she was talking to Jasmine about Sinnoh's contests in HG/SS).

That's the thing, Erika is stereotypically the one to be, but if Blaine were to be one, it'd be less predictable and more exciting, even though I love Erika more, and would love to see her more in general, even in contests.

I think Blaine would have the best suited personality to be a coordinator. However, I can't help but think of Surge trying it out. I mean, we had the Rock God coordinator Jeremy, right?

Any reason as to why it has to be a Gym Leader?

Let me introduce you to an awesome Frontier Brain named Tucker.

V, Tucker would be so perfect. I hope we see more Gym Leaders and Frontier Brains and even Elite Four members, some of them really were interesting.

Yeah Tucker has some coordinating experience just by the way he battles but there hasn't been a gym leader in Kanto that we know of to participate in contests while being a gym leader or have been in both.

Seems rather appropriate, doesn't it? The one region where no contests have taken place in every iteration that's been created no having any dual Gym Leader/Coordinator super-star.

Well... not every iteration. Are we including the Anime, too? There's the Battle Frontier to support Kanto in that case.

And with that in mind, I'd choose someone like Lily, Daisy, or Violet from Cerulean Gym.

Yeah I could see them definitely being coordinators and leaving Misty all to herself in the gym. But do they still count as gym leaders when I'm pretty sure Misty is doing the battling?

Lily, Daisy, and Violet would seem more appropriate in that fashion show in Hearthome, if you ask me.

Brock did participate in a contest in Kanto, and was shown to be very adept at it for getting into the final round with no on-hands experience.

But excluding him, Erika would be the obvious pick. Maybe a reformed Sabrina too - she did pull some flashy things with Pikachu's Thunderbolt in the first battle with Ash.

Don't take the games too seriously in terms with the anime, but in HGSS the player character sees a conversation between Erica and Jasmine in which the former inspires the latter to become a coordinator.
That explains how Jasmine ends up as a Contest Master in D/P/Pt but it still does not correlate well in the anime.
But hey, we're lucky that Jasmine is even getting a future appearance in the anime soon.

Erika would be the most likely. Other gym leaders are either way to busy, to macho, or pursue other dreams. Plus, she was talking to Jasmine about contests in HGSS.

How about...Aya? I think her poses and the moves her Venonat use would work okay.

You mean Janine. Koga's daughter. No I don't think so because she is determined to beat her dad and of course YOU.

I'd love to see Lt. Surge in a Contest.

Imagine a big man like him twirling around on-stage?

As long as he gets to wear a nice princess dress too. :p

But yeah, otherwise, as people have said, Erica would be a likely candidate.

No, I really meant Aya. Koga's sister in the anime. I know this thread is about the Gym Leaders, but since Janine simply doesn't seem to exist in the anime, I just decided to go with Aya considering that she seems to have "replaced" Janine in the anime and may actually become the Gym Leader when Koga gets promoted to Kanto's Elite Four. If you know what I mean.;-)
