Karate Chop - Pokémon Yellow

Currently my Primeape is level 31. It's been raised from about lvl 4.
The funny thing is however, it's got an attack named Karate Chop from a relative low level. In it's raising, this attack has never, and I repeat never, just hit for normal damage without having a critical. It's been critical hitting for so long and I've watched it and paying attention to it. I'm starting to think it is bugged :-O

Or is it supposed to be like that? Nevertheless, it's PP go down and everything does look normal with it...

Bulbapedia says Karate Chop has a high critical hit ratio and that Mankey learns it at level 15 in Yellow.

So, yup, looks like all's well.

Hm, in my blue version I had a similar case, except mine was with my Sandshrew/Sandslash. Its Slash always got a critical hit (literally ALWAYS) and I began to wonder if it was bugged too o_o Then Bulbapedia came to the rescue and I learned that it has a high critical hit ratio as well XD
