Hi everyone,

In this time, I do like Ursula. She really a great trainer, and coordinator. I do like her, and I hate that she didn't win any match to dawn, even if I do love Dawn

Kenny, in the other hand, is one of another jerks such as the stupid drew who I don't want to see them again at all. I really don't think that they are smart, or strong. Maybe, Drew is much better, and stronger than Kenny, but I do hate that Ash lose to Drew. I do hate that May challenged drew in "The Unbeatable Lightness of Seeing", and didn't challenge "Ash" at all in this episode.

Anyway, Let's back to Kenny, I don't think that it is a real rival, and glad that he didn't made to second round in GF, and do hate that he asked dawn to go with him, without considering about Ash, who is the first one who always with Dawn become a real dawn by herself, brock and by ash too. He think that he is better than Ash.

So, hope you to answer me here

Ursula was what Dawn's story needed and ultimately they wasted her with no wins and a quick GF loss. Kenny was boring but they wasted potential by having him lose in his first match with Dawn. A loser from the start

I do agree with you, and why I do not know. Kenny was much boring than anyone though, and I am happy that he didn't made to second round. I do agree with you in Ursula's part. To me ursula, zoey, Jasulina, and then nando who are real rivals. Kenny was so boring

And glad to see you again my friend Iteru

I always forget how much they ballsed up Hikari's contest quest towards the end... It started off so nicely (with Kengo just being a buzzing fly level nuisance) and then ended with the shambles that was the GF :-( Very unsatisfactory outcomes for all the rivals including Hikari, Nozomi and Musalina, with Kengo and Urara drawing the shortest straws. Worst part was that it was flagging a little when Urara was brought in and I remember thinking "it's gonna get seriously excellent now!" and whilst she was an excellent character, her impact on the story was more-or-less 0.

But to answer your question, never liked Kengo and loved Urara - just WISH they'd done more with her!

I do like your opinion, and always wait you in my threads. I always happy to see in my threads. and glad that you always shared the same feeling like me: "I never liked Kengo and loved Urara with hoping to just WISH they'd done more with her".

Yes, one of the things that bothered me is that she has more-or-less 0 in impact, however Drew, and kenny were have uch impact. Kenny was much boring, and stupid than anything if you asked me. I do want him to not be in GF also, and hoped if he didn't in the entire anime. One of the most hated events is when he thought about himself, and didn't care about cheering ash, then one who always cheer dawn. He did ask her to travell with him. I do hate him, and glad that he isn't a great battler, or coordinator. To tell you the truth, then I don't think that he deserve to be in the finals of the contests.

Urara (ursula) was a great coordiator, and very nice person. If you ask me, then I really think that she love dawn, and want to be friendly with them, but she had some of gealous from her. She deserve one real match,

About the Hikari, Nozomi and Musalina, then Nozomi was better in the games, but I do want to see a great battle for Musalina against dawn even if she lost. And hoped that dawn do also great job against Nozomi. One of the most great thing in Nozomi is that she really changed from the person who think that coodinator and gymbadges are different. She always thank Ash from changing herself in this point, and she always recongize also for that.

And I do think that it is unsatisfactory for urara, but for kenny no I think he really are deserve it.

Ursula easily. Her design is great, her personality is hilarious, and her contest skills were quite impressive. I absolutely hate the fact that they barely did anything with her and, for whatever reason, they always had her lose to Dawn, even though she clearly had the better skills and was nearly always destroying her for most of their matches.

Kenny is pretty meh. He just wasn't that interesting and only seemed there to develop a crush on Dawn. Towards the end of DP I kind of just wondered what the point of him was because he never had much of an impact on Dawn and barely did anything noteworthy. Their "rivalry" didn't even feel like one. He just felt like a typical childhood friend character that liked to annoy Dawn for no reason :/

Ursula was much better out of the two. She had more unique personality, being more aggressive made her stand out among Dawn's rivals and her Contests skills were fantastic. To this day, I still love her double evolution appeal in the Grand Festival. That was so creative and so challenging to pull off since she'd only have one chance to pull it off right on stage. She deserved far better treatment than what she got. I didn't mind Dawn defeating her the first time, but her other victories against Ursula felt too forced, especially their match in the Grand Festival.

Kenny wasn't bad, but just kind of dull. The main thing that stood out about him was his rather obvious crush on Dawn and that Dawn defeated him for her first ribbon. There wasn't much less to him beyond that. I didn't mind that he was eliminated that quickly from the Grand Festival since he wasn't too interesting and it was to show that having too much power can be a problem with Contest appeals too.

Ideally, it would have been nice if Ursula was introduced sooner. They could have given her a bit more screentime, seeing how she could have treated Dawn during her losing streak could have been interesting and she might have been able to get an on-screen victory, which she totally deserved.

Thank you both for posting in my thread

Ursula is a great person, and her contest skill nearby to quite impressive and really I agree in this part. However, I don't think that she is hilarious. I still think that she have a nice feeling for her rival dawn. Urara (ursula) was a great coordiator, and very nice person. If you ask me, then I really think that she love dawn, and want to be friendly with them, but she had some of gealous from her. She deserve one real match.

About the matches with dawn, she really deserve to win at least on. Why she didn't win in the first match for them when dawn got her fourth ribbon. If she didn't win in that contest then she will beat Kenny that happened before the gym number 7. I also hoped to see the rival of Dawn's mother who challenged dawn in celectic town. She already have 4, why she didn't compete in any other contest after losing to dawn. She only need one ribbon, so why she didn't do it.

But I should back to Ursula now, I do like her match with dawn in the double performance before the GF, I do like her two Plusle, and Minun. I don't think that she did any wrong in reality. In the beginning of the episode, they really want to be friends with dawn, but she scared because what happened to her when she was child. One of the great ideas that Ursula did in that match when she the attack who not allowed both momoswine, and cyndaquil from attacking, but really dawn did her best in the match and she did a great idea also with the Ice that ball that sorrund cyndaquil

However, I hate that she use the same idea in GF for beating Ursula. I don't see any different from the idea in Battle Performance; so why Dawn used the same idea in the GF with Baneary and Pachurisu against Ursula, and she still managed to beat her, I do want for to succeed next time, but I also want to See all of Zoey, Dawn, and Miss Jasulina in the Semi Final. Nando was good also.

However Kenny, in the other didn't do anything. I do love loves, and crushes but Kenny was soring boring, and stupid than anything if you asked me. I do want him to not be in GF also, and hoped if he didn't in the entire anime. That reminds me: what was the point of Kengo's crush?

I'm not a fan of either of these by any means, but the crackling chemistry of Contestshipping at least added interest to their rivalry, and Serena's crush gave us some great humour throughout her run.

Kengo was a flailing Koiking of a character and fawning over Hikari added nothing to that, nor to their dynamic. I half feel like its only purpose was at a subliminal level to confirm that only the female-female relationships mattered

I liked Ursula's hairstyle XD
I love her too.

The love is awesome, and serena really did very well in it. I think there should a love between dawn, and ash. May an ash also. But Kenny's love is really really really boring. his rival was more than boring

I didn't like either one.

Dawn's rivals, with the exception of Zoey, suffered from very poor writing and development, which was pretty disappointing after the previous saga where May had a set of amazing rivals who really made an impact on her and her journey. Ursula had potential, but the writers wasted it, and she just came across as arrogant and obnoxious. Had they actually utilized her more, made her more of a threat in contests, and given her some kind of backstory or development, she would've been a great rival for Dawn and an interesting character. Instead she was neither.

I also think calling Kenny a "jerk" is way off base. He was a teasing childhood friend; essentially a poorly written and uninteresting version of Gary Oak. Was he boring and a terrible excuse for a rival? Absolutely. But classifying him as a jerk seems uncalled for. I almost feel bad for him because he really was portrayed as this kid who really couldn't do anything: he wasn't really good at contests, and he wasn't good at earning Dawn's affections (which is fine by me as the flimsy "romance" subplots the writers try to shoehorn in from time to time are just awful.)

Another parallelism with Satoshi. They're both oblivious to love, and they both have people who had a crush on them.

Kengo might be a loser and many other things, but he's not worser written than Shigeru.

Oh yes, and Jessie (y) I'd actually say when it comes to Dawn's rivals, Jessie was just as good as Zoey! I actually tended to prefer Jessie myself.

I think he was. They really gave Kenny nothing to work with. He was no match against Dawn in any contest ever. Gary and Ash had some very good battles along the way. Kenny barely had any personality, while Gary was loaded with it. I enjoyed when Gary showed up, but when Kenny showed up I was either annoyed or indifferent.

Ursula. By a long shot. Her condescending personality was actually pretty nice given Dawn's other eternally positive rivals. Furthermore, she had a neat design, impressive performances, made it past the Grand Festival Appeals Round (looking at you Kenny-who the hell doesn't practice power equalizing for Double Performances for the biggest Contest performance ever?) and straight up would have believably won nearly all her matches against Dawn had plot-armor not been a thing.

What I really appreciated from Ursula was her farewell moment with Dawn - it was unlike some other goodbyes between rivals where we see that the hard feelings have melted away and that the two are at least genial to each other. However, that's not Ursula at all - she refuses the olive branch that Dawn offers by refusing that handshake. She remains bitter and reticent until the end, she even insults Dawn's performance if I remember rightly; she acted incredibly sore as well as immature, but incredibly human too. Their farewell to each other was a very realistic display of how in life, some people will perpetually dislike you no matter how affably you act towards them and you can not control another person's feelings towards you.

Ursula had some truly inventive contest moves and appeals, it is such a pity that she never had her own crowing moment of glory like Harley had with May in AG - it is kind of tragic that she will be as she was initially - the bitter girl in the corner. However, she was a very entertaining character to watch and a lot of wasted potential.

Very unpopular opinion; I have always liked Kenny - there's something about pathetic characters I just find endearing. I constantly root for the underdog, and man - this unfortunate boy might be the biggest underdog in this entire show. I felt his immaturity was very in tune of what a child is like, his constant wish to be seen as more brave than he is for Dawn, his selfish jealousy in regards to Ash and his flighty proposal to journey together with Dawn. I must say, I also appreciated someone who was just not great at their craft - it's pleasant to see someone struggle perpetually for a change. I will always remember his appeal with the perspiring Machoke - it was very interesting that Kenny decided to bring such a conventionally masculine concept as a sweating muscular figure after weight lifting into a platform that had been dominated more with conventional femininity.

I prefer Ursula, but I do actually like Kenny.

I want to know something, why I tired myself with answering you guys, of no one is answering me. Glad that I have a few people who like my threads, likes my posts, and answering me in my posts. The only thing that make me happy for you posts in that you are posting in my threads, but why mostly my posts are ignored

Maybe, talking with myself is better
