I seem to recall a long time ago, when running reruns of the first season, Kids WB would have all 5 episodes of the weekday morning or afternoon episodes (depending on the timeslot) each have a recurring theme, and Kids WB would promote that week according to that particular theme.

For example: "Char-marathon" was Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard based episodes.
-"Badges Week" was episodes which Ash won gym badges.
-"Evolution Week" was episodes involving Pokemon evolving.
-"Patch-em Week" was episodes involving Nurse Joy, Pokemon Centers, and sick and/or injured Pokemon.
-and so forth.

What I was wondering was if Kids WB continued this trend during the Orange Islands, Johto and so forth. And did Cartoon Network do this sort of thing as well?

Plus what weekly themes do you remember?

I remember they had an "International Week" where they'd play the opening themes from a bunch of the the non-English dubs of the show. So like one day they'd play the Spanish opening theme, the next day the French version, etc.

I also remember the Japanese version being conspicuously absent.

As I recall, they did play the Japanese version of Meowth's Party (this was around the time of the 2000 GameCube demo, so that may have factored in), as well as the English version. I don't think they used any of Italian themes, however.

Yep, they did. I could barely believe I was seeing it.

Here are some more:

-"When Pokemon Don't Obey Week": Most of which involve Ash's Charmeleon/Charizard
-"Ash's Catch'em week": Episodes involving Ash catching Pokemon.
-"Pikachu Week": Episodes centered around Pikachu.
-"Team Rocket Week": Episodes centered around the TRio or the Team Rocket Organization in general.
-A romance themed week.
-A spooky themed week.
-"Ash Ketchum's Greatest Adventures week."
-"Ash's 'Wish You Were Here' Week."
-"Meowth Week"

Anything I'm forgetting?

I thought theme weeks were done due to them running out of episodes or something. Or maybe I'm mis-remembering something. I very much remmeber them. tho.

And Cartoon Network would prob never do those.
