Kogas Daughter

I feel kind of bad for giving one little question its own thread.

Was Koga having a daughter in the anime a Ho Oh type of ordeal? That is to say was it foreshadowing the Gold and Silver games or was it just a case of the anime making up family for a gym leader and then said family coincidentally ending up in the games?

The games are the original source materal for Pokémon. However, in the Red and Blue area, it was never really mentioned that Koga had a daughter at all. She simply never existed back then. The anime instead made up a sister for him: Aya.

It was only when Gold and Silver were introduced that they invented a new character to take over the Fuschia gym since Koga was upgrade to Elite 4 status. Only they invented a Daughter.

Now there could have been a good chance for Janine appear, but Ash has no real reason to challenge the Fuschia Gym again. The closest we could probably get it Aya's reappearence in Johto and that filler character (I don't remember her name) in that Battle frontier episode (the one where Brock gets Bonsly).

True, but it would still be nice if he could, for some reason. Kyou was, in my opinion, the most poorly handled Gym Leader in the entire series. He didn't even show up until halfway through his debut episode, and then spent most of his time watching Kasumi and her Koduck. It was bullcrap.

Anzu could have at least been given a filler episode in Jouto.

The closest we could probably get it Aya's reappearence in Johto and that filler character (I don't remember her name) in that Battle frontier episode (the one where Brock gets Bonsly).

Either one of those episodes would have been perfect for Janine's debut. The fact that it didn't happen is rather mockable.
