Wikipedia for Kuroko no Basket said:
Kuroko's Basketball is a Japanese sports manga series written and illustrated by Tadatoshi Fujimaki. The title is a direct translation of the original Japanese title Kuroko no Basuke (黒子のバスケ?); the rendering The Basketball Which Kuroko Plays also appears in the artwork of the Japanese version. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since December 2008; the individual chapters are being published in tankōbon volumes by Shueisha, with the first released on April 3, 2009, and the 27th volume released as of May 2014. At a press conference Fujimaki said that together with his staff they will continue producing the manga version of Kuroko's Basketball.

Kuroko's Basketball tells the story of a high school basketball team trying to make it to the national tournament. The manga has been adapted into an anime series by Production I.G which began airing on April 7, 2012. The first season ran for 25 episodes before the season finale on September 22, 2012. The anime was renewed for a second season which premiered on October 6, 2013. A third season has also been green-lit.

One of the best sports anime up to date :D

The third season started airing January, 2015

Some people say it's similar to Prince of Tennis - but trust me, Kuroko no Basket is much better.
That doesn't set the bar very high, honestly; seen 32 episodes of PoT and I can't see anyone else than someone who plays tennis to be interested in it at all.

E: To clarify, that doesn't necessarily mean KnB would be bad; haven't watched a single episode of it.

The majority of the Kuroko no Basket fans don't know about basketball either, yet the popularity is increasing.

So anyways, you don't need to know about basketball to watch KnB. They include explanations when they're necessary, and it's mostly a high school story focused around basketball. It's also a much realistic one compared to other sports anime.

There's still a lot of unrealistic stuff :p *cough* Midorima

It's pretty unrealistic, but fun to watch anyways XD Kuroko's skill is impossible to do irl P:
I'm slowly going through the manga, and idk, but I think the anime flows better than the manga?
I mean, I watched Eyeshield 21 & read the manga, but I preferred the manga, so it's not the sports action in anime>manga thing for me.

The anime has a better description on character development.

Agreed, it does.

I enjoy watching it, but I need to catch up a lot of episodes. Missed them coz of my exams. But yeah, it's fun even though I don't play or watch Basketball.
It's always good to have episodes stacking up 8D

OMFG I DIDN'T KNOW THIS THREAD EXISTED???? fist BUMP FOR POSTERITY!

I am freaking OBSESSED with Kuroko no Basuke; I actually just recently caught up to both the manga and the anime. I'm a huge fan of sports anime in general, so finding this was a definite treat for me. All the characters are so lovable and they go through EXCELLENT DEVELOPMENT <3

Who's your favorite character? I'm a huge Kagami fan because I love that he's the underdog of the series, but also has the capability to be the strongest plus, he's the rebound guy for aomine to kuroko lol And he's just hilarious and NICE and caring!

I could go on all day about him, but...that would get tiring XDDD
@Yoshi-san; GET OVER HERE :DDDDDD

This anime is like crack to me! @CommanderPigg; forced suggested me to watch this and I can't get enough!

My favorite characters have to be Kuroko and Kagami! I ship thhem sooo hard together

YAY MOAR KUROKO FANS XDD!!

They really show awesome basketball tactics, but of course, the strongest point would be the impressive character development. While maintaining the personalities of each boy, they all show growth and progress in mentality.

As of this week, the Kuroko no Basket anime will end. However, there are speculations of a second season, even nothing has been officially announced.

If they can keep up the quality, a second season will totally blow me away XDD Kiyoshi appeared - yet we never got to see him play in games. I would LOVE to see the anime covering the story behind Kiyoshi and the creation of the Seirin Basketball club, as well as his clash with Hanamiya Makoto (my fav!!). Come to think of it, I want them to introduce all the Crownless Generals!!

Murasakibara and Akashi did not make major appearances in the anime - I would love to see them as well if there is a second season - THE WINTER CUP!!! XDD

I read everything up-to-date XDD

The anime ended :( But I really wish they'd make a second season XDD !! We need to see more of the Generation of Miracles - especially Captain Akashi and Murasakibara!! Also, there's the Crownless Generals they haven't even said anything about :)

I heard about that. Whoever sent that note is a total f***ing moron who doesn't even have the guts to do as the note says if they do air a second season. Seriously, I do hope that nothing bad happens to anybody, but that note was obviously sent by someone who isn't even half-productive as a Stunfisk.
