That's not a great title, but when staring embarrasment in the face, what's the stupidest thing you've ever done to avoid it? One time I wanted to buy Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, but I thought it would be lame if I bought it. I already felt kinda weird about playing pokemon (back when I was first getting back into it), so buying a Spin Off title would be really nerdy. I actually took my cousin into the store and pretended I was buying the game for him. When I got to the counter to pay, I even said to him, "Are you sure you want this one?" lol. Needless to say, nobody suspected a thing, but I'm ashamed lol. What about you guys?

When my friend was spying on my messy pencil box, he spotted a paper that sai "I like Pokemon". He asked me if I liked it with a WTF face. Guess what I said? "I wrote it for my brother, he's too afraid to tell his class out loud. I was going to give it to him if I got to see him." he said "Okay." as if it was true. Holy crap. I can't believe he fell for it!!! Half of my brother's class likes Pokemon (not anymore, we're lone Pokefans...), and OF COURSE HE CAN WRITE!!

Pfsh... For a while after I turned about thirteen I got my mum to buy all of the games for me. Partly because I'm the sort of person who's usually a little too lazy to go out for just one thing (if you go out with my mother and sister you will be out in terrible shops ALL DAY), but also because I was ashaaaamed. Now I don't really care, though, so I either buy them myself or preorder online anyway if I'm excited for it.

I must admit, a couple of months ago I was out helping my mum with the weekly shop and we stopped to go into this little corner shop for the papers and some chocolate. I saw they had Pokemon cards up behind the till and it sent me on a fond nostalgia kick, but I was embarrassed to ask so I just pointed vaguely and asked my mum for them before walking off to look at the magazines. It backfired because she called me back over and said "WHAT, THOOOSE ONES?" really loudly, but there you go. "OTL Not exactly terrible but it's the worst thing I remember, thankfully. ^^' Still made me cringe a little, mainly because even at fifteen I could pass for about eighteen.

Who hasn't done that? :p Only I did it with XD.

I don't feel to bad about buying the main series games, but anything spin-off is kinda embarassing. Although, I'll nearly be 17 when BW comes out. Not sure how I'll pull that off. I can't order online, I don't want my parents to find out I play lol I seriously thought about giving a kid my money and having him buy it for me once, but I don't trust little kids hehe

Just buy it. No one at the store cares.

If you don't want your parents to know you play, just play in your room with the door locked and if they ask, tell them you were masturbating.

XD The only thing worse than them knowing I play pokemon would be them walking in on that. And as long as I don't go to walmart or something, and go to Game Stop or another legit gaming store, they don't say a word.

No, but really. Just buy it. The games are there to be bought, and the people at the store don't give a damn who buys what. I'll buy it myself when it comes out, and I'm gonna be 18 next year. Though I will buy it at a store where I won't be able to run into anyone from school. They wouldn't be so tolerant.

About a month ago, I was buying one of the Pokémon DVDs. The way it was in the display made it impossible to just take out, and it took me about five minutes to figure out how to remove it. I didn't want to go to the guy at the help desk, because I was worried he'd start asking questions. (I'm 21, for the record) Once I did get it out, I held the DVD to my side and whenever I walked past a group of people, I'd put it on the side they weren't on. Then I realized how odd I was acting and started to worry that someone would call security thinking I would steal it (I still had other things to buy). Thankfully nobody thought it was odd, and I finished my shopping without any problems. For the record, if I were confronted, I would have told them I was buying it for my cousin.

It's a shame that you all are embarrassed to buy pokemon products. I'm twenty years old and I'm actually pretty vocal about it. I enjoy having the title of being nerdy.

I feel as if I can't contribute to the main topic, because unlike everyone else mine isn't Pokemon related. Having the world know that I'm into pokemon doesn't embarrass me. If anything, it makes me feel even more badass.

I went to GameStop today and talked with the clerk about HeartGold and SoulSilver. It was fun to actually do that in person. XD

I always pre order all pokémon games far far away from the city, so other can't see me while buying the pokemon,

i'm always embarrassed to go buy anything pokemon :(
i've had my mother buy me my games while i'm off somewhere else in-store pretending to be looking around nonchalantly. But like said above, it sometimes backfires when she calls me up to ask what i wanted again >.<

...I'm going to think that next time I go get myself some more cards. 8D

I never stop telling people how much I love pokémon. I don't get embarrassed and everyone who I talks to just gets hit with a huge wave of nostalgia so it's all good.

To avoid embarrassment, I tend to deny the accusation (it's lame, in my opinion), but it may make things worse.

This is going in my quotes blog. When I told my class I was a spriter and that I had a shop like 4 people kept questioning me. I told them (except one, who bullies me) and I'm certainly gonna use this next time!!!
