Of all the older pre-DP legends, the only ones that have never been given a second appearance are the Latios and Latias line, and Jirachi.

With Jirachi its understandable because it only awakes every 1000 years, but why do you think Latios/Latias have never appeared in the anime again?

Mew got two movies, Mewtwo got a movie and special, the bird trio appeared many times, Lugia got an arc in Johto, Ho-oh is given cameos in many eps, Entei/Suicune/Raikou got episode appearances, Celebi got an episode in BF, Rayquaza/Groudon/Kyorge all got episodes, the Regi's appeared with Brandon, Deoxys got two episodes after its movie.

So out of all the pre-DP legends, only Latios/Latias and Jirachi never got an episode. Why do you think this is?

uh. what episode was entei and rayquaza in? besides movies

Entei was in "Entei at your own Risk" from late Johto, (its the ep Brock's Pineco evolves in), and Rayquaza was in DP142 with the evil Togepi. There was also a Rayquaza conjured up by Mismagius in early DP.

ok I never saw that but, Manaphy only got a Movie appearance and only a intro cameo in DP the same as how latias and latios got cameos in AG intro.

Manaphy is a DP legend from the games, I'm talking about only the legends from pre-DP that have been around for a while.

For example, we've never seen Latios/Latias again since 2002 when the 5th movie aired. It had a cameo in the first AG opening but that's it.

Raikou recently appeared in a Piplup/Marill love ep in a dream.

i don't get why this is such a big deal Latios and Latias will get there chance too okay. The writers are coming up with new plots as we speak just wait for them. Gosh.

It's not like they actually try to have all the legendaries in episodes
If they'll ever have a reason or just want to show them in a regular ep - they'll do that... if not - then not
There's really nothing to say other than that
And I don't think there's any proof for any Poké being only one other than Mewtwo so Jirachi can still appear if they want
Also, Mew and Mewtwo never got proper appearance in a regular episode
Scott, you're reading too much into this like you usually do
With 493 currently known Pokémon (not to mention some who have various forms) it's only makes sense we won't see all of them often
For example - even Raichu (evo of the mascot) didn't get a proper appearance in the whole of AG
Just because they're legendaries doesn't mean we have to see them again... I prefer to see Dunsparce

Also, Mew and Mewtwo never got proper appearance in a regular episode

Mewtwo was still in those Kanto episodes, even if it had the armor on. Mewtwo Returns was also a movie-length special. And while you're right Mew never had an appearance in an ep, it still got to appear in two movies which is a rarity for some Pokemon.

Latios/Latias on the other hand, never got to appear again. Every pre-DP legend appeared a second time except for those two and Jirachi, and with Jirachi it sleeps for 1000 years.

Given how old Latios/Latias are, from 2002, you'd think over 8 years they'd get a second appearance of some kind.

I feel the Lati@s did get ripped off never appearing in its own region they do seem like legendaries that are common.

I can't really call that a "proper appearance"
These scenes were pretty short (not to mention some of them were actually from the movie itself) and as you said we didn't clearly see Mewtwo (even the characters didn't even know who that was)

Mewtwo Returns

= Movie
Yes, a direct-to-Video (or TV in Japan) movie but still... it counts as a movie (well, at least to me)
And we're talking about regular eps

And while you're right Mew never had an appearance in an ep,

Well, if to get really technical than there's Nando's... thing (how we call that? a harp?) shaped like a Mew and later (I think it was the Yanma capture ep) Meowth imagined the boss with many Poké with Mew being one of them (but it wasn't mentioned by name or anything and it was just a still scene for one second...)
Other than that, I'm pretty sure Mew didn't appear in any way in a regular ep

Latios/Latias on the other hand, never got to appear again.

I still don't get why they have to appear again in a regular ep
A lot of Poké didn't get a proper appearance for years (some even more years then the Lati)
Just because they're legendary?

and with Jirachi it sleeps for 1000 years.

There can be different Jirachi until they clearly say/hint that there's only one

Given how old Latios/Latias are, from 2002, you'd think over 8 years they'd get a second appearance of some kind.

Dunsparce's last proper appearance was during season 4 and that was before movie 5
And don't count me its background appearances as in this case we have the intro scene of some of the new movies that show the past movies legendaries
I'm totally serious when I say I prefer to see Dunsparce again rather than the Lati/Jirachi (and I do like them)

I actually don't get why the writers got legendary crazy like that, I prefer it when they make them more rare and special... so at least the Lati and Jirachi stay this way

I think that's why they're been putting so many old legends in episodes lately, they probably want to get each one its own episode, or a least a small appearance.

Having a different Latios/Latias in an ep together would be nice. It has been over 8 years.

I doubt they're really concerned with "fairness." They just put Pokémon in as they see fit. It's a shame that the two haven't had any more appearances, because I really like them. Latias especially.

i don't get why this is such a big deal Latios and Latias will get there chance too okay. The writers are coming up with new plots as we speak just wait for them. Gosh.

Do you not understand the point of this thread? It's for why they haven't gotten an anime episode appearance YET. That's the discussion.

I'm not sure if that Rayquaza in that Mismagius episode should count since it wasn't a real Rayquaza. It was only an illusion.

I do like Latios and Latias and it would be nice to see them in a regular episode. However, I don't think that it's actually required for the writers to put in every legendary in an episode. They just put them in one when it's appropriate. I wouldn't mind it if they do put them in a episode one of these days, but I won't be upset if they never do since they are in a movie. Not every Pokemon is that lucky in the anime series to be the center of one of the movies.

They didn't get an anime appearance because the writers can't come up with anything or can't be bothered to write an episode with them in it.

Well there was still a real Rayquaza that appeared in DP142 with the evil Togepi. It is only seen for about 7 seconds though.

It also seems like the writers count illusions/fake appearances. Entei and Groudon were fakes in Movie 3 and 6, yet the real ones appear in regular episodes.
