What cities in the main series have your least favorite music? I never liked Castelia and Nimbasa's music. Castelia has an annoying saxophone that repeats the same melody over and over and the trumpets in Nimbasa just drone on and on. I'm not a big fan of some of the instrument samples GF used in Gen V in general, really.
 
TBH, the music from the IVth and Vth generations is so forgettable for me (in general) that I don't even know much of them, so I'm not counting them here...

All I can think of is I never much cared for the Azalea Town theme from G/S/C (HG/SS), and for whatever reason the Rustboro City theme got really irritating in OR/AS.

Agreed about this one. Nimbasa's is really obnoxious. I had to ride my bike in that town just to get a different song playing.

Also, while I loved Opelucid's theme in White, I hated it in Black. It just sounded so hi-techy and ugly, compared to the graceful yet sober-sounding theme in White.
 
What??! Why so much hate for Castelia and Nimbasa?! I actually liked Nimbasa's jazz music and Castelia's pop style - they really feel like you're in America/New York City!

What I hate is Driftveil's and Misralton's music: the former sounds like a tacky pop-style Japanese enka, and the latter is like an equally tacky J-Pop music - and both feel really out of place in Poke-NYC. I'm also not a fan of Black 1/2's Opelucid music either, although at least that does fit the futuristic theme well.

I also start to find a number of Kanto's/Johto's city music boring compared to some of the better music in Unova's cities, and especially Kalos's. I'd be happy to see Safferon City's music replaced with a XY version of Jubilife City's, and RBY/FRLG's Vermillion City music be remixed in a style similar to Virbank's. (HGSS Vermillion was awesome, though.) I also wouldn't mind either Ceruelan's or Fuchsia's replaced/remixed either. The Indigo League music in both RBY and GSC also feels really monotonous and lacking compared to the epicness of the Pokémon League music in Kalos. Azalea/Blackthorn City music should also be replaced/remixed with something more traditionally Japanese. Ecruteak was really nice, though - I hope they wouldn't replace that.

Shalour Town's theme is grating on the ears. I actually like Nimbasa's though

Dogs: I really dislike Lumiose's music. For one thing it gets annoying after ten times.

I can't say I disagree. The original G/S/C theme for Saffron City was much better. They were able to get a closer feel to the original G/S/C theme with Vermilion City. I wish they had to remade it like that.

I agree that Saffron City's music is boring, but I think it's boring because it is repetitive. GSC was actually the worst because not only was the generic "City Music A" was used in Saffron, Viridian, and Pewter, but also in Cinnabar and Cerulean (with their RBY music completely replaced). Even in HGSS, Saffron's music doesn't feel as special as other metropolis music like Castelia/Nimbasa or Lumiose, because the music is still reused in Viridian and Pewter. I think either Viridian/Pewter, or Saffron should have a new city music. Viridian could have something more like White Forest or Fortree City, while Pewter could have something more...outdoor feel? As for Saffron, I've already mentioned in my previous post.

Well, in R/B/Y they all had the same theme, and I think people would be weirded out if all of the sudden they had brand new songs in those cities, so don't ever count on it happening.
 
I hate Nimbasa, and Black City, too. Actually, almost all of the music in Black version is pretty horrid. Bleh.
 
Gah, Lumiose City... that music just reminds me of getting lost, snobbish fashion Nazis, and bad camera angles. It also sounds too high-pitched.
 
Pretty much every Kanto and Johto town music. They were just so... bland, even in the remakes. While I'm no music expert or whatnot, I like music that gives a more unique rhythm for each place. Recycled music can get a bit repetitive. And I'm part of the minority who actually liked Nimbasa and Castelia. I rather liked the upbeat and rather... New York-ish rhythm to them. Seemed rather fitting, if you ask me. Heck, I liked pretty much all the music in Gen V. Lumious got a bit aggravating at times, especially how turned around you can get in that city, but it did seem rather... French-y, so it fit the bill.
 
I never cared about the BW songs. For me is the game with the worst songs. With a few exceptions.


I just hope the next generation, the battle songs to be better.
 
I hate 90% of the town music from the Hoenn region. It's just really difficult to pick anything that stands out aside from maybe Slateport and Evergrande. Most of the town music is just... it's just so nothing. It's not memorable. I just got done playing ORAS and I can't think of anything other than Slateport or Evergrande for the life of me.
