I just read on serebii that the 3 Shiny Legendary Beasts that will be distributed in events will unlock something in 'Pokemon: Black & White'. But What? Personally I think they might have somethin' to do with Zoroark or unlocking a new area in the game.

What do you guys think?

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

Serebii said there was no confirmation just that hints at it since there's nothing to unlock in HGSS; so it makes sense it would unlock something in Black and white.

At first I thought it was because they're alternate colored, but thinking about it, that doesn't make sense, not only do they advertise their alternate colors, they actually say alternate colored Raikou/Suicune/Entei. This also includes the moves.

So yeah it should be interesting to know what unknown special feature the beasts "unlock". Of course Serebii did use "secret" so it might not be much. Maybe HGSS specific Pokemon Following you reactions, if that could possibly be the secret.

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

Well, if they do unlock something in B&W, then, I guess you can connect HG/SS to Black and White. I've been wonderin' for a while now if some Gen. IV games can connect to Gen. V......

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

Any bets that its Zoroark?

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

Well, I've stated in my first post that it has somethin' to do with Zoroark (or Zorua) or it has somethin' to do with unlocking a new area......

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

I doubt they would make the first pokemon they advertise from the games a creature that you can only unlock with an event pokemon. That would just be a.... terrible decision.

If it does specifically mean Black and White then yes this would be the first hint that 5th gen is compatible with 4th gen games.

That's the best guess of any, maybe some cutscene with Zoroark transforming into them, as well as the player character before transforming back.

I kind of doubt it has anything to do with obtaining Zoroark Oh crap I just realized the coincidence. Coro-coro says that in their next issue they reveal how to obtain Zoroark. And on the main Pokemon website they say the beasts have an unknown "secret"

Then again I really hope its for an exclusive move/ability Zoroark, because while I probably will get 1-3 of the beasts (depending on how it's distributed in the US). I'd hate it if you could only obtain Zoroark by having one of the three beasts transferred over.

No, what I mean is, is that maybe it'll unlock more background info on Zorua/Zoroark, I don't mean like 'to catch zorua/zoroark, you have to have these event pokemon'......

Exactly what I was basing it on. The connection between em can be exactly this.

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

Or, maybe you can obtain Zoroark without the beasts, but if you want it to have let's say 'Sheer Cold', then you have to have the Shiny Suicune Event.....

I kind-of doubt it. I really think Zoroark will just be the second-coming of Lucario.

Maybe they'll unlock some kind of event? Like how PCP unlocks Spikey-ear-Pichu or Arceus unlocks that event where you get the level one legendaries.

Maybe you'll get a crazy ass Ho-oh. You know, the Ho-oh that STILL isn't all the colors of the rainbow, despite what all of its Pokédex entries say?

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

You mean new ho-oh form? If so, give me my fucking Crazy ass Lugia Gamefreak, its only proper!

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

I just meant a shiny Ho-oh. But I am still RETARDEDLY bitter that Ho-oh isn't all seven/six colors of the rainbow.

IT SAYS RIGHT THERE IT SHOULD BE!

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

It say's right there that Garchomp goes as fast of a jet, yet its speed isn't all too great. The pokedex is a walking talking, bullshit artist.

Re: Legendary Beasts to Unlock Something in Black & White

Why did so few people see this coming? I hope that in the future there won't be any unnecessary arguments about movie promotions triggering in-game events, even if said promotion predates the game release by a few months.

Regardless of whether or not the beasts' secret is related to Ho-Oh or Zoroark (it should be both), the Brass Tower should be the focus of whatever event is in the cards. If Zoroark has something to do with this, it will explain why CoroCoro didn't mention Zoroa when they said that information about unlocking Zoroark would be revealed.

I really hope that Game Freak are not just going to reiterate the Crystal references that were removed from the remakes. It is about time we learned how exactly the beasts died and what species they were prior to the resurrection. Before anyone says that the Zoroark in the movie has no relation to the beasts, they should bear in mind that Arceus' connection to the Dragon trio was barely referenced in Movie 12, which didn't prevent the Sinjoh Ruins event from dealing almost exclusively with that aspect of Arceus' story. In Zoroark's case, special attention only needs to be given to one representative of the species in order to shed light on the origin of the beasts; the species as a whole could still be normally available.

1. We know how they died: in a fire. And I always assumed they were the same species, just brought back to life. Does it say somewhere that they were different?

2. Wait... I don't follow your logic with the Arceus thing. Because Arceus' relationship with the dragons WASN'T expounded upon in the movie, but still existed, then Zoroark's suggested relationship with the beasts means it's a sure thing?

I doubt they will reference 'The Brass Tower' and it's History besides possibly the odd hint such as 'Three Pokemon died in the Tower'.

I don't think this will be a Johto Sequel and I doubt Johto will referenced alot,
They want to Rebirth the Series, they probably won't mention other Region's a lot besides the odd Hint.

If I remember correctly the legend was "There was a great fire, ensuing in the tower, and three Creatures died, from the ashes 3 new Pokemon were born"

While it could've just been Suicune, Raikou, Entei, it kind of seems stupid that they didn't specifically say that it was them. While I will agree that back then it could be due to space limitations and not specifying was a way to shorten the text, but if the same legend was iterated exactly the same in HGSS with no clarification that it might not be as apparent. Since for some reason researchers don't believe it was Suicune, Entei, Raikou that died in the fire but what was the result of Ho-oh resurrecting them.

Again it could simply be a forme change rather than Jolteon becoming Raikou (for example), but they still could've looked very different then the beasts we know now.

The rest could be readily available to the fanboys' heart's content.

I still don't buy into the theory you posted in the other thread about the Beasts having been three Zorua and the parent Zoroark impersonating Lugia. I just don't think that's it. Moreover, I don't want it to be that... I dunno, it just feels like a cop-out to me.

That said, if the Beast event does unlock something related to the Zoro's (maybe even something related to the mysterious lock capsule), then there will be no denying a connection between the two. One I'm quite eager to discover, I must say.

Lastly, I hope they do reiterate the Crystal references to the Burned tower event and the creation of the Beasts, it'll help bring that myth back to the current canon (it's canonical state can be a little shaky with the fans after HGSS failed to mention them), but I also hope they expand on it and not leave it as just that.
