First off, this is not a thread about what the legendaries are, look like, smell lke, sound like, taste like, or feel like.

In Platinum, is it agreeable that you catch a pretty litter of legendaries.

All I ask is that they limit it a bit... oh yeah, and no "You got to go to an event to acess this pokemon hoh hoh" Bullsh*t

Agree, if not tell why

(Sorry about most likely breaking a rule...)

This. Platinum had way too many Legendaries, many of which I didn't like (To be specific, the Lake Trio aside from Azelf, Heatran, Darkrai, Cresselia, both Shaymin Formes, Palkia, and Giratina). It should be kept at a level were we have more legends than in Gens I (5) and II (6), but less than in III (10) and IV (14) (7-8 Legendaries seems fair).

I agree, we should have at least 7 this Generation.

Let's see:

The event Pokemon: 1
The Mascot Trio: 3
The Legendary Trio: 3

1+3+3=6... I mean 7...

That's all we really need not 10, 18 legendaries. I mean they could have easily saved Cresselia and Darkrai to be the mascots for these games.

I agree. There were WAY too many unnecessary legendaries in Gen IV. I'd like to see it cut back down to a legendary trio, an event legendary, and then maybe 2 or 3 other legendaries.

The more legendaries, the better.

Absolutely this. I don't know why people despise so much an overabundance of Legendary Pokémon. I personally love them (event Pokémon even more, as they're hard to find or get) and the ties they often have with the plot of the region, even if it is incredibly small, vague or distant.

Yes, because Heatran, Regigigas, the 3 Regis, and Phione are SO important to the game's storyline.

6-7 seems like a nice amount for the game. I don't even really care about legendaries. Half of them don't even have good stats. I'd play through the game and not catch ANY legendaries, I only catch them to complete the pokedex.

i'll allways hate Crystal for adding backstory
i liked it alot better when the legendarys were just "oh hai, i'm over here, catch me when you feel like it!" instead of required catching -_-

Just like Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres!

Edit: Actually, Heatran has a role in the game. The quest with Buck, the Magma Stone, etc. ...

Well, that was just it. The legendaries didn't have ANYTHING to do with the storyline. They were just novelties created to wow friends and family. They were just that really rare Trading Card that everyone wanted. Then R/S/E turned them into the ONE thing the crime syndicate needed in their plans to make the legendaries seem more important. I just want the box mascots to be relevant somehow and the rest to be captured for fun.

This so much. But you can't hate Crystal, you just can't.

Heatran of course has strong ties to the DPt plot as well as being the embodiment of the origin point of the entire island at the north of the Sinnoh Region (Fight, Survival and Resort Areas, aside from Stark Mountain itself). About the others, only Phione (and likewise Manaphy, though both are event Pokémon) lacks a relevant part in-game: that's why I wrote "even if it is incredibly small, vague or distant".

I hope that in Black & White there are introduced at least as much legendaries as DPt had.

id like 9...still less than gen III and IV, but still enough to satisfy everyones urge for legendarys while still not over flooding the game with them

Here we already have a thread about less legends and it is less than a month old. If you want to revive it you can.

The less legendaries the better...the more we have doesn't really then make them rare and special...just one of their kind(some)
