Let me try this again by making myself perfectly clear...

All right in a topic I deleted, I asked for ways of obtaining legit legendaries and instead got an unhelpful reply so let me try asking the question in a different form:

Does anyone know of any Japanese auction sites (besides Yahoo Auctions of Japan), or stores that have events that I can perhaps mail my cart to for small fee and they will put the Pokemon I want on the cart for me? Does such a thing exist.

On Yahoo Auctions of Japan, there were people that offered for a small fee, to trade certain kinds of legendaries via the wi-fi connection though I am afraid that these are not legit.

In addition people were selling Japanese Ranger carts with the Manafi mission on them for me to trade over, again I am worried about legitimacy.

As far as I know, no, nothing like this exist.

Why would you pay for Pokémon? That's stupid. You always risk not getting legit Pokémon via this kind of method, your best bet is to not even bother with something like this.

Exactly, yeah I am not going to trust anyone on eBay nor would I trust anyone to give me stuff via Wi-fi, though thanks anyway for your help.

Yeah I was hoping maybe an import shop had this available as a special service perhaps. For x amount, they would send you a cart where they got the Pokemon loaded from an actual place in Japan.

There will be people out there cloning legit 3rd gen legendaries and unobtainables, don't worry.

Yeah, they're going to be cloning Jirachi from the bonus disk in America, Celebi from the one in Japan, and all the other Gen III Legendaries aside from Deoxys an' Mew who are going to be hard to get a hold of by just dumping into DP and rebooting the GBA games. They can do that with Manaphy in Pokemon Ranger too, come to think of it. The only unobtainables that will be really hard to come by are Mew, Deoxys, Darkrai, Arceus, and Shaymin.

Americans got Deoxys, so people will be cloning those. I have a friend who will be cloning Mew, he got one from the offical promo.

Celebi, Darkrai, Arceus, and Shaymin will certainly be the most difficult to come across, with Mew being fairly difficult.

Thanks for the helpful replies as I really do appreciate it. The good news is, I recently purchased a Japanese Colosseum Bonus Disc so I now can have a legit Celebi. I also have a Japanese Xtra Dimension so I have Lugia, and soon I will have a Japanese Colosseum for Ho-oh which is cool. My problem is just getting any cloned or hacked Pokemon (sorry Paperfairy).

While I want to get everything in my Dex, I'd rather not have something unless it is 100% legit.

Regarding my deleted thread, I know how to get the Pokemon regarding the ways to obtain them and the items that are needed. My problem wasn't with that, so Bulbapedia wouldn't have given me any new info. *Ahem*

Yeah basically I am extremely obsessed with obtaining completely legit legendaries and kind of limiting myself even with carts of different regions.

Meaning I am not really thrilled with buying an English region Colosseum, an English Colosseum bonus disc, trading that to my English Ruby or Sapphire, trading that to my Japanese Fire Red or Leaf Green and trading that via Pal Park and renaming it using the correct katakana.

So basically in some respects I am kind of deadlocked.

The only thing I can do regarding Manafi, is basically buy the Ranger cart with missions preloaded. Is there a GS code does anyone know that can enable the Manafi egg mission so I know if I should purchase this?

Everything else I either have to skip or just go with "semi-legit" Pokemon.

lt;dr, will read later

What's wrong with clones? It is 100% IMPOSSIBLE to tell a clone from the original, even after looking into the game code; exactly the same.

What's wrong is that I am extremely particular about these kinds of things? ^^

Cloned Pokémon? Perhaps. But synthesised Pokémon... well, that's different - there may be many minute things that could be give-aways, say, the IVs, or the nature (if those were fixed), or perhaps a flag somewhere in the game that indicates whether or not an event was triggered.

Pro GameSharkers know how to trigger these flags on and off, but it will increasingly difficult with Wi-Fi. Just make sure you trade with someone respectable.

In which case what is it that makes cloned Pokémon preferable to synthesized ones? If both can pass off as having been legitimately obtained, why does it matter that the person giving away the Pokémon did not have to cheat for the original version? Either way, he did cheat by not having to relinquish a valuable item with which he would certainly have had problems parting under normal circumstances.

Exploitation of glitches has only one advantage over the use of cheat devices - being cost-free. This might actually be viewed as a disadvantage in an ethical context.

Furthermore, if you assume your line of thinking to be the consensus, then whenever a player is spotted with an event Pokémon of a different OT, it can be gathered that the Pokémon has been cloned. Of course, this does not apply to Ho-oh, Celebi, Jirachi and Manaphy (the former three for being under the "Fateful Encounter" category, which means that their OT is not supposed to coincide with that of the player, and the latter for assuming an OT upon hatching from its egg).

I thought I was quite helpful in eliminating any false hope that such things exist or are an option. >_>

You were helpful Sketch, I mean someone in another topic I made who will remain nameless ^^

Edited for dead links.

Didn't click any of them. Don't trust any of them.

@Unown Lord: Not true: it's 100% possible that someone could've given me THEIR Mew, rather than giving me a clone.

Under your line of thinking, that would assume that the person was lucky enough to have received more than one legitimate Mew. By viewing cloning as perfectly acceptable, you are in fact removing any chance of someone not resorting to cloning when he only has one Mew.

If you truly do not care that all hope is lost on finding a "flawless" Mew and have moved onto finding the next best thing, I can appreciate that. But if you perceive cloning as some sort of luxury that is available to you when necessary, but still leaves room for the chance of finding that flawless Mew, then your logic is distorted.

I know one thing that can help... does anyone know of any links to past events that have been held in Japan? If I recall correctly, wasn't there a Mew giveaway in 2005 to celebrate the 8th movie release?

If I look at these events, it will help narrow down my search.
