Screw the rules, writing is an art, not a science!
As a GM, despite oft being described by some as stiff and overly serious, one thing I have never been is conventional. Every roleplay I've ever started has begun in my own (albeit twisted) mind as a deconstruction of one convention or another, a rebuttal to an old standby - a different way of doing things, to put it simply.
Now I'm not saying that convention is bad. Traditions exist for a reason, and we keep doing things a certain way because it works. But things have never, and will never, improve as a result of us plodding down the same worn out path. So unless you're satisfied with the way things are (where even the best RP concepts wither away after three feeble pages), it's time to try something different.
What are some things we always do in our RPs that we might, flying in the face of all logic, reason and conventional wisdom, not do? What alien form of roleplaying have you always wondered if it might work? Big or small, what might you do differently?
