Hey there. This is my first art thread over here. I did post on the old BMGf back in the 2000, but that's been a long time and now my artwork is much better, hehe ^_^

As the title says, I'm trying to draw in the official/Sugimori-sama style. I'm planning on drawing all the sprites from all the games as Sugimori artwork. Of course, all with new poses. I'll be using the FRLG Pokemon Zukan Illustration book and character illustration from both Emerald and FRLG. As for the GSC trainers, I'll be using the Pokemon Stadium 2 artwork :)

Disclaimer: All images have been drawn by N i L / PoKeSaFaRi / Kento based on the original illustrations by Ken Sugimori. These illustrations MAY NOT BE REUSED.

Now... Posting Starts!

First picture to be posted is a BULBASAUR. Do I really have to tell you THE reason? Guess not :P

Oh my! You caught Sugimori's style so well in this Bulbasaur! I love it! ^_^ And the pose is so adorable, I like how Bulby stands looking at the pokéball.

My only complain here is the lineart, seems jagged. Did you scan the sketch first and then delete the background? Because it seems like that's what you did.

Other than that, it's very good.

Hehe, thanks for your comments Kasumi-san. I'll try to bring some exclusiviness over here too as soon i'm on vacations ^__^

The drawing was actually drawn directly onto the computer, so no scanning was done. The jagged lineart is to prevent the art theft, and if there's someone stealing those, i can easily spot who it is. I've got HQ images with the backgrounds on them saved on the computer. This are compressed and transparent bg ones.

Time for Emerald Yuuki/Brendan and some Hoenn Pokémon =)

Holycrap that's awesome....*___* Nehhhhhh, I wish I had talent. >3

Now we just need Will, Brawly, Morty and Eusine....>D Then I will be a happy creature.

Those are all really good. The shading is great, but you need to work on your human anatomy. You have pokemon's figures done perfectly ^_^

I saw these at your deviantART account and I'm highly impressed at them! Especially the Wynaut one. Heck... and I just want to take that Mudkip home with me. XD;

I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your pics, Kento.

Thanks for your comments everyone. It's time for some more artworks. This time Johto-themed.

So it's time to see how Cris/Crystal/Marina would look like in the FRLG style. Following her, her pretty and mysterious Mumma/Misdreavus around her adventures in Johto.

On one of Crystal's training days, she found a couple of twins which wanted to battle her. Crystal used her Misdreavus and won them, but they got a picture done because of the effort these girls had put into that Pokemon battle :P

(Tried to be imaginative presenting those images :p)

omg, i saw those at DA. i thought they were official pics! *_*

I'm undecided which Pokémon or trainer should i draw, maybe you could "request" and give me some ideas on who's the next one to be drawn =)

These are amazing! Are you sure you haven't been pinching Suimori's pictures? :-) The Mudkip one is the best! I fell in love with it all over all over again!

How about trying a Shiny Pokémon?

Will. Or Brawly. Or Eusine. Or Morty. XD I'M NOT PICKY I PROMISE. XD

I think you should draw one of these excellent Steel-type Pokemon:
Skarmory
Metagross
Scizor
Forretress
Aggron
Jirachi
Registeel
Magneton
Steelix

Or all of them in one pic. That'd be !@#$ing AWESOME!!!!!

More of my sugimori-alike artworks!

This is time to welcome the red headed girl which owns a gym at lavaridge town. YES! That's Asuna/Flannery! Hope you like it...now i'll look for shelter as I'm getting scared by the Flannery fans XD

Note: I've taken good notice of your suggestions.

Those are amazing it looks just like Sugimori's style. I like his style a lot, so crisp and pretty. Might i suggest you try some more g/s/c pokemon? Sugimori hasn't redone a lot of those pokemon.

He has redone all of the old Pokémon, i'm certain he has. We'll be able to see the new illustrations at some point, maybe with the DP games.
