Sometimes, he was glad that the Azure Nest was out in the middle of nowhere. There were several reasons why, ranging from less attraction from the people living farther in Alerin and the sheer "quiet"

But none compared to the unblemished, beautiful and majestic sunset that appeared in the sky.

Smiling to himself as he sat on one of the many grassy hills that surrounded the Azure Mountains, he lit up his pipe and stared at the slowly descending star.

It was the time of night were everything but the wind stood still; it was peaceful and serene- her favorite time of day. It was dark on the hill, but she could see perfectly. Genvieve had well trained eyes, able to see the tiniest movements and the lightest changes in her surroundings. He could see and smell Jason's pipe from the bottom of the hill as she walked up behind him. Genevieve knew he could hear every step, but he didn't turn towards her till she was an arms length away from him.
"Hello dear," She smiled affectionately as she sat cross legged next to him in the silence.

As the last rays of sunlight dissappeared, Jason turned around to the young-

He giggled on accident.

"Nothing, i just realized you look young enough to be my granddaughter"

"Well that would put a damper on our relationship, but you can be immature enough to be my son. So I think you should get over it," Genevieve laughed.

"For a 90 year old women, you sure know how to hit someone where it hurts" He said, feigning a sad face. He secretly wondered if she was being serious, as even Rush had said that even though there wa salmost a 70 year age gap between them, he was sometimes more serious than him.

"I just know you that well. And it's easy to push your buttons because you let me." She leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. "Cheer up, I do it out of love. Anyways, how are you?"

As night slowly fell upon the Azure Mountains and the stars came to life, Jason smiled and fell onto his back next to Gen and looked up into the sky.

"Just thinking about the old days.." Before Gen could ask he continued, "The old old old old old days." He added with a small smile as he looked into the sky. Slowly he raised he hand and made a small "O" with his fingers, creating a small windows in which dozens of small, white and blue lights twinkled.

Genevieve laid down on the grassy hill and gazed upon the stars searching for constellations and keeping watch for a shooting star.
"How old are we talking? You and I both are pretty darn old, be a bit more specific love."

"I mean, back in MageWind, Back when i could still play the lynirium." He said with a small laugh. He had learned so much yet forgotten things also in his long life.

As he lay on the grass with his best friend and lover, he couldn't help but think of the curse that affected them both.

Curse...

Nearly everyone that knew of their condition thought of it as something amazing and wonderful. The chance to live a long life free of age, sickness and disease. A long life...But few knew of the truth of long life. The horrible pain of living through so much war and seeing your best friends that you knew since childhood die from old age when you looked to be in your early twentys. Wars, deaths, suffering...so much of it could be shoved into a lifetime, yet they had lived through several.

"Heh...hard to think we are still sane.." He said, suddenly putting on a grim face.

"It's hard to see how we are..." She knew what he was thinking, but she wished she didn't. It pained her more than he'd understand. She placed her hand on his.
"I think if we didn't have each other we would have found a way to die. I know I would have...."

It was strange now...thinking on what she said. He could still remember their first reaction to their litte..."affliction" all those years ago. Even if it was dozens of years ago, the events concerning their past was burned into his mind.

60 Years Ago, Magewind. 6th Airship Division Shock Troopers (Navy-Sec Unit) Barracks

Jason lit up his pipe as his second in command entered the room. He smiled, knowing that in about two seconds, she would try to take the pipe from him and then say something about a mission or something along those lines.

"God, Jason! You're like a little kid!" Genevieve snatched his pipe from out of his mouth and held it out of reach from him. "We have a mission, it's not recess! You think after..." She nagged incessantly at him, until he agreed to focus on the mission they were given. She sat next to him in her own chair and chastised him one last time before he rolled his eyes at her.

"Gah, i need a hard-ass second in command, not someone who thinks her boss is a ten year old." he straightened up.

"So what do you got for me?"

"If you didn't act like a 10-year-old then I could be the bad-ass second in command..." She sighed, looking through the small folder. It was useless. There was only one order, no information aside form that.
"We are to protect a ship. That's it. All information is above the need-to-know."
That really bothers me... what is so damned important about it?

"What the hell?" Jason said, becoming serious. He reached over to the file Gen had and pulled out a single peice of paper. The first thing he noticed was the emblazoned seal on the top of it.

So this is from high up...really high up...

"They could at least tell us what we are walking into"

"Those were my thoughts exactly, but it's not like they'd tell us if we asked. We do as we're told. No questions asked." Gen said flatly. She did not like what they were assigned, but it was not her place to question it.

'well do they at least tell us the name of the ship?' he looked over and saw a phrase with a circle around it. 'the.....fallen sunset?'

"That's it..." Gen said, looking over Jason's shoulder for a report time.
"We need to leave now, bring that with you, we have to report in to Cheif."
