In terms of both their policies and ideas and in terms of how likely it is for them to gain more/ a lot of power?

* Alan Keyes, although he won't gain much power
* Tom DeLay, although scandal might ensure he doesn't gain much more power
* Donald Rumsfeld, although... eh.

Santorum(sp?): The man believes the Weather Service should be privatized. Though I doubt he'll be reelected next year.

However the scariest conservitive is Anne Coulter. *Lightning strikes and thunder rumbles* Se honestly believe every liberal should either be run out of the country or be hanged for treasoned.

Tom Coburn...or Condoleeza Rice. Pretty much anyone who thinks close to the way Bush does. But definitely Tom Coburn on a local scale. Although if he just spends all his time doing crossword puzzles, it can't be THAT bad.

Rice, scary? Bah. Rice is above-average for the high-profile republicans. Frankly, if (as some people have theorized) 2008 was Rice v Clinton, I'd probably (were I american) vote Rice. She doesn't get on my nerves nearly as much as Hillary.

Hillary Clinton is a sell-out bitch who's out to buy votes by espousing whichever pointless cause the Soccer Moms believe in (such as "stamping down the Canadian terrorism gateway", "Death to Hot coffee!" and so forth) and by capitalizing on the puritanical "Oh, poor wife who got cheated on" feelings.

Even Bush is arguably more respectable than that. (Still wouldn't vote for him, though. He may be a more respectable human being, but he's still equipped with all the intelligence of a tulip). Condi, OTOH, seems to be more respectable than Bush (not hard, either), and more intelligent. She beats Hillary easy.

Of course Bill was much better than any of them (not that he was particularly respectable, but he was funny and did the job pretty well, which is better than what Shrub can claim), but his wife is, well...

Let's just say I'd rather she take a LONG vacation. A *permanent* vacation.

Starting now.

I won't go into my issues with Rice (although they relate to the Iraq War and the part she played in the lead-in), but I do agree (mostly) on your points on Hilary Clinton...and pray that match-up never happens. Although if it did, I would vote Clinton (lesser of two evils in my mind). We need to find better female politicians in America. Which I could think of a good one, though. On EITHER side.

That and he seems to have no problems draining money from the state (the Penn Hills issue and all), and he's making decisions for a state he doesn't even seem to care about. Then again, that's a problem with most of our politicians in this state anyways.

By the way, wasn't he the one who also said that airlines should also be privatized, or am I thinking of someone else? (Either way, good luck with that business.)

But yes. It's the local conservatives that scare me, mainly because they're the ones who have no qualms about forgetting us over here in the western corner. Or allowing West Virginia to annex us, for that matter.

Next up on my list is Dick Cheney. No, it's not about his language (though it does scare me that someone with that much influence has that much rage in him). It's about his relationships to corporations known for supposed fraud and corruption, to which I won't say much more.

Frankly, Richard Pombo. You may not know of this guy, but he is a powerful congressman who wants to repeal the Endangered Species Act (I'm not kidding). That scares me.

I want to marry him.

Do you have any articles on him?

Orrin Hatch and Santorum are scary, both with the corruption and fuundamentalism... But they're also far-right and aren't exactly going to come into power.

Gonzalez, though... War on porn. WAR on PORN. And the whole "Defending torture" thing doesn't sit well with me, though disliking torture might just be a crazy-liberal thing. :P
