Does anyone know what purpose this serves? Whenever I click on it, nothing happens. Is this just for people who are connected to Facebook?
 
Nope, there's that "like" link in the bottom right corner of each post (above the signature box). It lists likes done via that. (For testing purposes, I liked your post, you should now have one received like.)
