Pokémon Black 2 & Pokémon White 2 - Medals

A lot of "do X certain number of times", mostly, but some different ones there.

Seems I was right about there being Medals for catching all the "X-type Pokemon", but only for the Unova Dex. You also get one for completing the National Dex as well, in addition to the Diploma and Shiny Stone.

Some other notable ones I noticed
* One you get for catching 50 Pokemon in a day. Reminds me of what those speedrun guys are doing.
* Finding the graffiti on the back of one of the signs
* Using Strength and Fly, but the wording makes me think there's a specific boulder you need to move with Strength, and I think maybe you need to Fly to every location
* Finding 150 Items...with the Item Finder. Good thing BWs Item Finder is actually fun and easy to use
* A few of the medals require you to pass by 30, 100, and 1000 people via C-Gear...fuck.
* Also some for catching Pokemon sent via DreamWorld.
* Catching N's Pokemon (no clue how many) and getting a Shiny.
* Seeing Wailord while travelling in the Marine Tube, which I guess is a rare event.
*Interacting with all the automobiles in the game...0.o
* One of them mentions creating a "Cult Pokewood Movie"
* There's even ones for defeating the Elite Four using mono-type teams!

What struck me as interesting is that there is a Cult Movie Star medal, which means there isn't an infinite amount of films you can make. Let's just hope we can still have PokeWood updated.

Also:
"Defeat Castelia City's gang" and "Change the channel on a Television" seem interesting. The former because of Castelia city gang violence and the latter because....we can change channels now?

You could do that before. Just watch the TV at the right time and it'll go "... zzt" and then start showing kinds of stuff from before.

Automobiles I think should be machines, there's stuff like cranes and trucks, plus the name of it says Heavy Machinery.
The N medal you get for getting any one of N's Pokemon, even the Zorua.
TVs now have three channels you can watch.
And there are forty movies you can make, each with branching endings, but you can only keep 8 made ones.
There's also a gang in a sidestreet of Castelia only accessible through the sewers, they're the ones that award you the Castelia Gangleader medal.

Well, I'm never getting those ones.

Okay, this one legitimately sounds fun. :D

I wonder if you could use one cartridge and restart 1000 times and connect to the second game (if you are using black 2, you could use a white 2 game and second ds and restart and connect 1000 times)? Long time, but that would be the ONLY way i could do it

What, nothing for fishing in a statue for 1,000 times and finding a Mew? ;)

However, the C Gear is pretty clunky. It keeps the game timer running and doesn't feel easy to handle when you put the system in sleep all the time. From personal experience, 3DS Streetpass is more streamlined.

I know Gen VI will implement something like that, but I wish there was an extra 3DS setting for BW2 regarding the C Gear and tagging.

But I love the battling challenges presented by some of the medals! It definitley increases replay value if the World Tournament and Black City/ White Forest weren't enough already! :)

The c-gear ones are bullshit, only cause that means you'd miss about 5 medals, including the got all medals one. Also, that beat E4+champion with 1 Pokemon medal is pure insanity. You need about god knows how many super potions, and god knows how much patience to attempt it.

Although most of these badges are a bit boring (do X thing Y times) and some just plain out impossible (The C-gear one...probably time to embark in some Nitendo conferences, eh?), I like how they add some extra objectives within the game. Sure, Pokémon is a great sand box to play at, but having some suggestions of what to do is always welcome. I'll definitively try to get all Challenge Medals. As for the "defeat the E4 with one Pokémon", it's probably not that hard with a great Pokémon that has a lot of decent moves with lots of PP, at level 100 and EV trained. I really want to do this with an Emboar, even if it can't be my starter (Porkchop II is the placeholder name for it).

There's no way I'm ever gonna get the C-Gear ones. I'm one of a few people at my school who plays pokemon (I say few because I'm sure that there is probably someone other than me somewhere around here). The Elite Four Challenges are pretty interesting, I think those will be fun. I can't wait to try my hand at a single pokemon beating them.

I'll be waiting for the "Have All Challenge Medals" AR Code

Soloing the E4 is easy, dude. I'd love to do that with my favorite Pokemon Darkrai.

* Find a Shiny Pokémon. Anyone who's unlucky with shinies, well, good luck. I see the reason for the Shiny Haxorus now.

Hey plus the Shiny Charm =) which boost the Masuda Method right?

A thousand C Gear tags IS a lot. I go to anime/comic/geek conventions carrying my 3DS several times a year, and I have 541 Miis in my Streetpass plaza after getting the system in August.

This is for software that comes with a system by default and works even when no games are being played. At a big convention, you could get a couple hundred Streetpass tags, but the C Gear involves one or two specific game titles that have to be on while the person is carrying it.

Do repeat tags count? I know that's what happens when I'm at conventions for multiple days.

the C-gear thing is excessive but I'm really looking forward t Join Avenue... so glad they allow Wi-fi instead of just the C-gear... what all Items can you buy from there?

Yeah, I gotta agree the C-Gear medals are way out of place. 1000 passes might work for some hardcore Japanese; I think I had met one or two people in Black during all the time I played it, and those were friends I deliberately asked to turn on their C-Gears for me. I have a feeling I'll probably have similar problems with the Join Avenue medals, or anything related to other players really -___-

Join Avenue and Fes Missions use Wifi thankfully so you can do JA like the GTS I think...

Like many other all I can do is echoe the sadness over the C-Gear medals. I probably won't be able to get all of the medals because of the local-multiplayer stuff alone ( in White I have ALL musical props but ONE...the one you get for partaking in a musical with a friend together... ;_; ).
Everything else sounds fine though. Another reason to explore every tiny bit of Pokewood, my Mono-Teams ( Ground and Water) are waiting happily for their time to shine in the league, fishing and breeding for shinies like crazy, hell, even watching TV is something I love to do in Pokémon.

The medal system probably won't stick around in the later games but I wish they would...let's cross our fingers!

I know that feel bro. But I'm also excited to get something for using monotype teams! You could even get two medals at once by using all the Water/Ground dual type pokemon.
