The Little Things about School

Welcome, this is a thread where you can talk about your experiences in school (or other forms of education, such as tutoring), either as a student or a teacher.

You can...
- Debate/discuss about experiences in school
- Simply chat about experiences in school
- Ask for advice, or provide advice

Before posting, please keep these points in mind.

  1. When posting, stick to your experiences as much as possible.
    - When debating/discussing/chatting, base your points on what you experienced, or what happened around you.
    - While talks do not need to follow a strict topic, any topic must be based on experience. Hence, you cannot link or post to a newspaper article to start a discussion.
    - When giving advice, you may provide a link to a trusted resource. Even so, discussion on the resource itself will be regarded as off-topic.

A moderator may give a public warning if he/she finds that the discussion has become off-topic per the thread rules. This is a sign that the current discussion needs to stop. Ignoring this can lead to warnings/infractions.

  2. When giving advice, be responsible and know that your advice can affect those interested. Also, be careful when taking advices as they may not be the perfect solution for you.

  3. ON HOMEWORK : Talking about your assignments is fine.
For actual help for your homework, please use Official BMGf Homework Tutor/Help Thread instead.

  4. Flaming at a user, based on his/her experiences, will not be tolerated.
Commenting on errors in a person’s experience is fine. However, taunting or insulting the person is not allowed.

Have fun!

There's only one thing I would like from school - nothing else matters to me anymore.

100% job guarantee.

Then I probably wouldn't have to worry about getting a job after I graduate.

Form 4. 15 subjects. No free periods during the day. 2 hours of afternoon classes every day of the week, including Fridays.

Just started my sophomore year of college a few weeks ago & I'm already enjoying it more than my freshman year (one of the worst years of my life). I do miss my brothers from Groove at Louisiana Tech & my roommate, but going to community college back home has been easier on me. I love that my classes are short & we get Fridays off. The work really isn't that much easier than a regular university but hey, college is college. I haven't really made any friends yet, but that's not a main concern. As much as I hate living at home, I really do like going to classes living at home than living in a small dirty unconditioned dorm on a campus. So far things seem good, & hopefully stay that way (despite me finding out I bombed my first math test already Dx )

In my major, I'm studying neuroscience, plant physiology, bioinformatics, and genetics this semester. Bioinformatics has a lot of statistics in it, so it has me worried a bit (poor skills in math), but so far, all four are interesting and I'm enjoying school so far.

Unfortunately, I've been very busy with homework over the past few days. It seems that I'll have quite a lot this year.

It's pretty much the opposite on my side. I got almost no homework, and the classes in which I actually have to work are few.

I'm a fish, but the upper classmen and me get along real well so I got promoted to sophmore.

So fuck yea, upperclassmen privileges and freshmen quirks.

Schedule/Agenda for the weekend relevant to school.
- Read three books, two for a debate/discussion course and one as preparation for a debate competition sort of thing
- Review/Preview/Study stuff, 7 courses (+prepare for a quiz)
- A make-up class
- Club meeting
- An essay for that debate/discussion course

*sigh*

...at least homework doesn't account for most of that. <_<

This week, school took a lot of my energy - I had to go to classes, settle and attend extra classes, do my class representative stuff, run a mile, do homework... It may not be a lot for some of you (I'm looking at you, Mintaka, that's a lot o_O), but I was kinda caught off-guard... this year will require some real work, which is good to get me used to real life, I suppose.

You have a lot of work there, too. Good luck with that. XD

This semester is hectic because I'm taking 7 courses (actually 8, but one of them is a mentor program so it doesn't require a lot of time), and a lot of work comes with that. >w<
