Satoshi: Haley Joel Osment
Takeshi: Keanu Reeves (after he got a tan).
Kasumi: Ashley Olsen. xD

Honestly, I don't know enough about actors/actresses today to make any kind of call. :p

ONE OF THE MAIN VILLAINS SHOULD BE PLAYED JACK NICHOLSON AND PRETEND TO BE A COMBINATION OF JACK TORRANCE (the character Jack Nicholson portrayed in "The Shining") AND THE JOKER (he was the joker in one of the "Batman" movies)!!!

whenever i see LA threads where people put random english actors into anime roles I cry.

it's hard to pick actors/actresses cause you have to think about; a) Look b) Acting Talent c) Physical Ability d) Previous Roles That Would Be Similar.

Lol. None of the ones I mentioned (that I know of) were English. :p They were all American.

But if you were talking about putting Caucasians into the roles instead of Asians, you need to watch more anime. xD You'd be surprised at how non-Asian so many of the characters look. ;)

Professor Rowan - Sean Connery

Mostly because they're both old people and in Finding Forrester his voice sounded similar, and he had a similar attitude, so through make-up it shouldn't be too hard.

Actually, I'd prefer unknowns for our heroes, a la Superman tradition. I STILL think badly-singing pop star divas ought to be members of Team Rocket, because I'd LOVE to see an 8-mile-like parody where different teams go off on a huge motto battle. A friend of mine thought Gary Oldman would be a neat choice for Giovanni -- he was right, dammit. :D

I wouldn't mind Sam Witwicky's mom being Delia, since Sam & Ash (IMHO) are a lot alike.

I keep glancing at Ian McKellan (sp?) for Oak. Don't know why. Or the guy who plays Dumbledore.

What would be nice if you guys would link to their pics ... some of us are quite sheltered and don't know their names by heart (or even who they are in the first place).

actually, I'm with Lamia on this one. While several anime characters look Caucasian, it's pretty obvious that they're Japanese all the same. With that said, it seems oddly natural whenever Japan produces something live-action based off of an anime... it's either that, or simply the fact that they're speaking Japanese ^^' (or it could even be the fact that Hollywood movies based off of Japanese franchises tend to always suck ass, thus leaving me opposed to the idea but not so much towards Japan doing the same with their own franchises).

Having finally seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I'll have to second everyone on that Charlie kid as Ash.

Which got me thinking, what if this movie is directed by Uwe Boll?

Yeah, for some reason in Japan, characters seem to make the transition from drawn to live action a lot better. Probably a side effect of not limiting most mediums as much to one type of story or to one age group.

Which reminds me, I hope they bring that live-action Case Closed prequal special to the English-speaking world, either as a sub or a dub...

Togo Igawa for Prof. Oak IMO. Professor Oak does the whole, serious doctor and comic relief thing in one, and seeing Igawa in both The IT Crowd and Torchwood made me think of him instantly.

For some reason, I've always thought that Melissa Joan Hart would make a good Jessie.
