Just a reminder to everyone:
We won't be instituting a ban on Live Caster (the DSi video chat feature coming with B/W) on this forum. However, I'd like to remind everyone of our already-existing rules, along with some internet "common sense" things, to ensure the safety and happiness of everyone on the forum.
As a note, this doesn't apply just to Live Caster--it goes for all uses of communication via (but outside) Bulbagarden. The revelation of Live Caster just makes it worth bringing up again, and we'll reiterate it as B/W gets closer to release.
First, using Bulbagarden as a means to Live Cast with someone and then harass them is not permitted. Using Bulbagarden as an in-between like that will be treated as if the harassment takes place on Bulbagarden, with bans or infractions proceeding accordingly. Second, if you have a problem with a user harassing you over Live Cast, please contact a moderator or administrator immediately with as much information as possible. We will handle all complaints promptly.
But finally, a word of common sense. Whether you're young or not, you don't know who's out there on the internet. It's not always the safest of places. While Bulbagarden has a fantastic community, none of the staff want to hear about our users getting exploited or bothered by trolls or creeps. So be very careful with who you Live Cast with--and this goes for video chatting in general. Not to sound parental, but this really is something you need to be cautious about. Use common sense. If the person seems "off" or aloof, is pressuring you into Live Casting, or just generally makes you uncomfortable, don't cast with them and tell a mod or admin. Your safety and happiness is paramount--much more important than irritating a friend on the forums if you don't videochat with them.
So, be safe and happy Casting!
