Just between these three, who do you feel is the best dub composer? What's your favorite soundtrack composed by your chosen composer? And what's your favorite single track composed by your chosen composer?

Or also, what's your favorite individual track or full soundtrack composed by each of these guys?

Let's discuss.

Loeffler. Since he has his name in both of my favourite dub songs.

The very first Pokemon Opening and 'The Legend comes to Life' aka 'Lugia's Theme'.

I would say that I love 'The Legend comes to Life' 100000 times more than the first Pokemon Opening (I can loop it on my earphone for hours and not get tired of it), but whatever, Shuckett don't have his name on my second favourite one so Loeffler it is.

These are their actual names?

Yes, they are. John Loeffler, Ralph Shuckett, and Ed Goldfarb. Messrs. Loeffler and Shuckett composed for the 4Kids dub, and Mr. Goldfarb composes for the TPCi dub.

This thread title sounds like the name of a law firm.

I wonder if any of them had composed a track named "objection."

I haven't heard enough of Ed Goldfarb's work to make a final decision between the three dub composers, but I must say I really liked his work on the Diancie movie. He turned a good movie with a boring soundtrack into a good movie with a great soundtrack. Kudos, sir.

Schuckett. He composed one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard in a Pokemon movie.

So beautiful.

Oh, definitely. Shame that movie's dub BGM never got a full CD release.

On the subject of that movie, I submit this and this, too.

Well, as of the new dub episode (A Frolicking Find in the Flowers), I now have a new favorite TPCi dub theme, a new favorite Ed Goldfarb-composed theme, and a new favorite XY BGM track. All those accolades go to the theme that episode gave to Eevee. I want a full version of that.

Ed Goldfarb got lots of points from me just for that adorable theme.

Loeffler > Schuckett > Goldfarb in terms of their compositions if you ask me, though I do not care for the dub music when you compare it to Miyazaki's.

We're forgetting about John Siegler, the one who did all of the 4kids opening themes. He has, in my opinion, shown the most superior compositional ability.

Loeffler has done some cool stuff but I didn't like the intros he did for TPCi (with David Wolfert). I don't have enough experience with Ralph Schuckett to make a comment.

I like Goldfarb's "Be a Hero" better than the Loeffler/Wolfert stuff, but musically it's a little bit weird and not on par with Siegler's work. I'm optimistic about his future with the show, though.

I'll agree with you on Siegler- he was the best dub composer if we count him.

Loeffler I liked what he did for 4Kids most in earlier seasons, but I hated what he did for TPCi when he returned, it's like he was not even trying compared to before.

I feel it's weird as well: feels like a ripoff of "I Wanna Be a Hero" to me, honestly, mixed with 4Kids' GI Joe Sigma X theme.

Urgh... I can't believe I forgot about John Siegler.
