I was watching some old Orange Island/Battle Frontier episodes last night and just remembered some episodes that I have not seen in a long time and I thought about which parts of anime I have liked most, as I have seen most episodes, minus newer battle Dimention episodes and half Hoenn and Chronicales episodes:

Indigo League:

many things I remember, some titles of episodes as they said the word "poke" in them, I have not even seen any episodes of D/P or Battle Dimention that use the word "poke" or "pokemon" in title anymore

Also I loved the music in the original series, especially:

Setting off
A meeting and a parting
tears after the cloudy weather
Bills Lighthouse
Pokemon Center
And of course, the original theme.

Bye By Butterfree: For all who watched the original series, who won't remember this teary episode? I even have the book "bye bye butterfree" somewhere.

Problem With Paras (when Ash's charmeleon got KO'd by paras, good filler, funny seeing paras poke charmeleon and making it faint)

So near, yet so farfetch'd: I have not seen this episode in years, but remember seeing farfetch'd for the first time and thinking "thats a neat, strange pokemon.

Showdown at the poke-corral: was this the episode with moltres or was it after that? I rememberd this one because of how Ponyta that Ash was riding evolved into Rapidash and how its flames did not hurt Ash.

Also since the Safari Zone episode was not shown (the gun pulling episode), I assuemed the Safari Zone was a place where people could see wild pokemon, but not catch them.

The first time you see Jigglypuff I remember because of how Jigglypuff tried to sing but put everyone to sleep and it getting upset and drawing on everyones faces.

Mistys Psyduck and how it kept escaping from pokeball. the best bit for me was when the gang saw psyduck get a super headache.

I am in class, so I'll post mopre of my thoughts on this later, but for all those who have been watching anime since way back, even from when it started, or maybe not, what parts of the anime over the past stood out for you?

I actually rewatch through the Pokemon anime almost consistently in order, so I remember pretty much every episode a lot more than other people do.

What I do is I usually watch about 3 episodes a day, without commercials it only takes up an hour of my time, and I've done that with each saga in order to get through it quickly. I also rewatch the sagas in their chronological order too.

Rewatching Pokemon in order isn't as time consuming as I thought, even with the sheer amount of episodes, because if you watch eps in order at like 3 eps a day you really do speed through the sagas quickly.

I remember missing "Power Play" but catching that last scene where Gary walks of with Umbreon. Unbreon was my favorite Pokemon at the time.

And then theres random scenes and episodes I'll remember. Like in that episode with the giant Bulbasaur in the sewer.

Call me crazy but one of the most memorable episodes for me is Fowl Weather Friends because I remember discussing with my best friend on how dumb Mariah was for not getting underground.

Ironically, I like Mariah now ^_^

That's actually one of my most hated episodes of Johto, lol. The ep where the Oddish thinks its a Hoppip, right? Pretty much the perfect example of an awful filler episode that should have never happened.

I'll always remember Ash winning the Orange Cup, and getting beat by Gary and Eevee two episodes later. That'll always stick out because it was the first time they had battled, and I thought that Eevee was Gary's starter.

Showdown at the poke-corral: was this the episode with moltres or was it after that? I rememberd this one because of how Ponyta that Ash was riding evolved into Rapidash and how its flames did not hurt Ash.
That was called "The Flame Pokemon-a-thon" I believe.
I always remember:
The Tower of Terror- It was the first episode I ever watched.
Hello Pummelo/Enter the Dragonite: I thought it was a great battle and it was cool to see a 6 vs 6
Can't Beat The Heat: Ash finally beat Gary and Charizard was awesome.

A lot of things from the first season stand out in my memory. Probably because I was just a kind and completely enthralled by the anime at the time. Even though most of my favorite anime characters were from the Orange Islands and Johto seasons, the first season will always be most memorable for me.

The Flame Pokemon-a-thon and the Battling Eevee Brothers episodes stand out in my memory. I think the Battling Eevee Bros stands out because at that point, I hadn't known what an Eevee was but when I saw it in the anime I was all over that...I totally wanted one in my game.

When Ash was riding Ponyta in the race and it evolved, that was my absolute favorite moment in the anime ever. :p I feel like a kid again thinking about how much I was obsessed with that episode.

Heh, you might find this a bit hard to believe. But I actually remember everything from the 4Kids dub. I watched Pokemon every weekday afternoon and every Saturday morning. And I have such wonderful, special memories of watching the show on KidsWB.

"March of the Exeggutor Squad" - That was the first episode I ever saw. While it isn't one of my top favorite episodes of season one, it is special to me, because it was the episode which introduced me to the Pokemon anime.

"The Chikorita Rescue", "Once In A Blue Moon", "Good 'Quil Hunting", "A Bout With Sprout", "Ignorance Is Blissey" - I remember watching the original airings of these episodes, like it was just yesterday. And I still love each of those episodes to this day.

"Current Events", "Turning Over A New Bayleef", "The Wayward Wobbuffet", "Got Miltank?", "Plant It Now...Diglett Later", "Bulbasaur The Ambassador", "Throwing In The Noctowl", "Extreme Pokemon", "An Egg-Citing Adventure", "Hatcing A Plan", "Hocus Pokemon" - These are just some of the episodes which I really enjoyed watching during seasons 4 and 5. But of course, if I were to list every single episode I loved, it would fill up an entire page (maybe even two). XD

"Get The Show On The Road", "Tree's A Crowd", "Gonna Rule The School", "A Hole Lotta Trouble", "A Mudkip Mission", "Turning Over A Nuzleaf", "A Corphish out of Water", "A Different Kind of Misty" - These are some of my favorite episodes of Pokemon Advanced. It's really incredible how many special memories Pokemon holds for me.

"A Shroomish Skirmish", "Me, Myself, and Time", "Whiscash and Ash", "A Double Dilemma", "A Scare To Remember" - These episodes are such a pleasure to watch, and in my opinion, they are some of the best episodes from Advanced Challenge.

"Vanity Affair", "It's Still Rocket Roll To Me", "Solid As A Solrock", "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snorunt", "Do I Hear A Ralts?", "Showdown at Linoone", "Date Expectations", "Less Is Morrison", "The Ribbon Cup Caper", "Island Time", "The Scheme Team", "Hooked On Onyx", "Rough, Tough, Jigglypuff" - I remember watching the original airing of every episode of Advanced Battle like it was yesterday. But these are just some of the episodes that I really enjoyed watching.

Anyway, like I said, I remember watching pretty much every episode from seasons 1 through 8. You name it! I've watched it! Heh, if it's an episode from the 4Kids dub, chances are that I've probably seen it a dozen (or more) times, and with certain episodes, even hundreds of times. Heck, considering how many times I've seen Pokemon on TV, there's no wonder I remember the 4Kids dub so well!! XD Of course, the best part is that, every time I'd watch the 4Kids dub on KidsWB, whether it was a new episode or a rerun, the show always filled me with so much happiness, enjoyment, and entertainment. Yes, every single episode was truly a magical, special experience. And this still holds true for me, even to this day. That is how much I love and enjoy watching the 4Kids dub of Pokemon. ^_^

By the way, I enjoyed watching seasons 1 and 2 as well. And those seasons are very nostalgic for me indeed. However, the only reason why I didn't mention those seasons, was because I was so young back then. In fact, I was so young, that when I look back on it now, I can barely remember watching the original airings of those episodes, lol.

So anyway, it's much easier for me to remember the original airings from seasons 3 through 8. ^^

The first few seasons are the most memorable for me, though I don't know many episode names. Lets see... one of the first eps which was tearjerking for me at the time, were Ash is desperately trying to get his injured Pikachu to the Poke-Center, the episode with the Dragonite that comes to the shore by the lighthouse and it had something to do with fossils I think. The episodes with the ancient giant Gengar and Alakazam with weird graffiti all over them. When Charizard first obeyed Ash, the eevee bros., and one of my favorites, the episode that went over all of Meowth's back story explaining how he learned to talk etc., to name a small few. xD

Don't worry, I'm great with episode titles! I've actually memorized most of them! XD

Anyway, the episodes you just described were:

"Pokemon Emergency"
"Mystery at the Lighthouse"
"The Ancient Puzzle of Pokemopolis"
"Volcanic Panic" (I'm gonna assume you're talking about "Volcanic Panic" because it's from season one, and it was the first time that Charizard listened to Ash)
"The Battling Eevee Brothers"
"Go West Young Meowth"

The Orange Islands. That was my 1st full Pokemon season I have ever saw! And Johto was the first full region that I have ever saw and liked. (Man, I wish I had Lisa's memory for remembering episode titles though, I cannot remember more than a seventy titles.)

The first season is the most memorable season I rememeber.

The episode that caught my eye first time in March of 99 was Tentacool and Tentacruel. I remember saying to myself, what this distruction and weird animals that caught my attention. And when I was a little girl, I used to think Pikachu was a rabbit because the rabbit qualities it had. Well it took a few months after I realized it was a mouse.

Pikachu Goodbye made me cry at the episode, but at the same time hate it too because it was a tearjerker.

But the episode that always has my heart is Electric Shock Showdown. I loved that episode the day I seen it, and still considered my favorite episode. The reason I said it is mainly because I started my love to my favorite Pokemon Raichu. Also I thought Surge was ganster to me becsuse I thought he pierced Raichu's ears. I thought the loops on its ears was earrings, but I was so wrong. You could tell I was stupid. And something about it just swarmed me to the Pokemon craziness, and also to catch on the series.

I just watched "beauty at the Beach" and the thing I rememberd was when Ash and the gang were trying to get customers to the restruant and they said they had things like "Calms" and "Squid" food in the restruant, so that proved real world animals existed cause there is no squid pokemon, is there?

I also liked the "Island of the Giant Pokemon" because of the pokemon and how they acted. It showed that pokemon would prefer to get along rather than fight eachother and only do that for their trainers, as TRs Koffing and Ekans said, "Master makes us do bad things" and they obay their master and don't want to be bad, but get along with everyone. Also like when the gang were on the cart on the track near the end, when it was going to fly off the track, how they said what was going to happen before it happened, was funny.

My memories aren't as great as everyone else's on this thread. O_O It'll take me a while to list the parts I remember.

Usually thats the same with me too, but when I think of an episode but don't remember, I look it up online, usually end up watching it on youtube.

Anyway, another episode that came to mind just now was the Sabrina episode, when the kid (I think, it was her) turned Ash and gang into dolls or somthing like that.

For some reason, the only Orange Island episode I remember was the pinkin island one and when the pink rhyhorn charged at the ganag and togepi teleported them to safety. I think I have seen all the Orange Island episodes though.

Orange Islands had some great eps at certain points.

"Pikachu Re-Volts" was one of my favorite eps as a kid. That's the one where Butch/Cassidy use a Drowzee to hypnotise Pokemon and turned Pikachu against Ash and Meowth against TR.

Back then it looked like Team Rocket the organization and Giovanni were going to be major villains in the anime, its a damn shame we barely saw any of that during Johto until the tail-end.

Right, but that's when you have time to do that. Since I don't, I never end up watching them again.

God, I remember the good old days when Ash was in Kanto and Johto...

I remember the very first episode, which happened to be the first Pokemon episode I ever saw.

I remember being in tears seeing "Pikachu's Goodbye".

I remember not knowing how I felt watching "Tower of Terror".

I remember laughing as Ash caught Primape in "Primape Goes Bananas".

I remember Ash release Butterfree and Pidgeot in their episodes.

There are just too many good memories of Pokemon for me.
