Lowdown on the various GBA tickets?

Okay, it's completely impossible to google something like this without ending up with conflicting information, so I'll just ask here.

First, does different regions matter when it comes to these things? Can a Japanese or American event item be transferred to a European cart via the transfers machines, or does each region have their own, separate machines?

The Eon Ticket, was this only available through an e-card in the US, or did it have a transfer machine like in Europe as well?

The only way to get the Eon Ticket in Emerald is by mixing records with an R/S cart which has had the ticket downloaded to it, right?

The Aurora Ticket... was there a way to get this to an Emerald cart in the US? In Europe, it couls only be downloaded to Fire Red or Leaf Green.

What about the Mystic Ticket? Same deal? This one was never released in Europe, but we did get Lugia and Ho-Oh via the top 10 download, and of course Collosseum and XD.

The Old Sea Chart was never released outside Japan, right?

As far as I know, it was only an e-card. It was even distributed in Nintendo Power.

Yes, and I think it matters which way you hook up the link cables, like the Purple end must go into the Gameboy with the Ruby/Sapphire pack. It's been a while since I've done that, though.

Don't think so.

Sorry, that's all I know.

The Eon Ticket was also avalible in Nintendo World as a download station for serval months when it first came out. It was then rereleased when Dexoys came out for a very short time. The only other way to get the other L in your game was at the tenth aniversary event in NYC last summer. The same event where you got flying pikachu. All other ticket events for R/S/E FR/LG where at nintendo world for one day, excluding the lugia and ho-oh tickets, these where there for two months.

He's talking about the European version of the Pokemon games, not the American version.

I was talking a bit about both, actually, so yeah, thanks for the info, archer :)
I still haven't gotten an answer to my question about whether the Aurora and Mystic Tickets could be downloaded to an Emerald cart, though. The data for the ticket and the islands is apparantly in the games, but in Norway, the Aurora machine could only download the ticket to an FR or LG cart.

Are you referring to the Nintendo DS tour that began in Greece and spread to other European regions in the months of August and September 2005? This tour included an Auroraticket download machine for FireRed and LeafGreen. Am I correct in assuming that the tour reached your country before October 21, that is, before Emerald's European release date? If so, you must have used an imported version of Emerald.

While I am not absolutely confident, I do believe that Meowth346 experimented Mystery Gift with his Japanese FireRed version at Pokémon Rocks America 2004, and failed to receive the Auroraticket Wonder Card. Even if true, it might still have been possible to use an American Emerald version at the English event and successfully receive the Auroraticket (much as it is possible to connect any English GBA version to any American GameCube or DS version, and vice-versa). Either way, your case was different.

It is worth noting that the German event (called Pokémon Day 2005; not part of the European Nintendo DS tour) was held in close proximity to Emerald's release date, but nonetheless beforehand. According to this page, the advertisement of Emerald played an equally large role as that of the Auroraticket download for FireRed/LeafGreen. Filb stated that the download was intended for Emerald cartridges, as well, but he seemed to have meant it in a loose sense. This screenshot shows the reception of the transmission by a German Emerald game -- used in other parts of the event for try-out purposes. I would conjecture that Filb managed to trigger Mystery Gift and pick up the transmission (apparently the signal's strength allowed for much broader access than in your case), although that was not the intention of the event organizers.

What I do know to be a fact is that the Auroraticket promotions in all countries were held prior to the release of Emerald in those respective countries. On the other hand, the Mysticticket was distributed twice in Japan after Emerald had been released (it had been previously distributed only to FireRed and LeafGreen on two occasions). The Pokémon Company held two promotions for the Mysticticket as well as the Eon Ticket (the former for FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald, whereas the latter -- for Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald): the first in early 2005 in what appeared to have been the last Joyspot promotion; the second in December 2006 to January 2007 in what seems to be a revival attempt of the GBA series. In the United States, by the the time the Mysticticket was first distributed, Emerald had just been released, and was not made an exception. Outside of Japan and the United States, as you are fully aware, the Mysticticket has yet to see recognition of any kind.

It is indeed a thing of irony that not only has the Mysticticket been made unique to Japan and the United States, and the Old Sea Map -- to Japan alone, but also the idea of the Auroraticket in Emerald has become an oxymoron. Other than Gamesharkers, only English players who imported the American Emerald version and German players who sank so low as to steal event-only cartridges, can possibly claim to have the elusive item at bay inside their green Emerald bags.

Hm, I see.
The Aurora Ticket did indeed arrive here prior to Emerald (April 2005, actually - Norway was the first country in Europe to get it, though there was no DS tour here), but the Aurora Machine stayed in the country for about a year, and was available at multiple events, some held after the release of Emerald (plus, I happened to know the guy resposible for the machine, so I got the ticket outside these events :p), and it was made very clear in the announcements of these events that you had to bring a FR/LG cart, as the ticket could NOT be downloaded to an Emerald cart. It's possible the Norwegian machine wasn't similiar to the DS Tour event machine, though.

There's no chance of these GBA events being held again in the US, is there? I'll be moving there this fall, and I'd kinda like to have a Mew and a Celebi in my GBA dexes :p
