Hello Everynyan! Welcome to the twenty-fourth instalment in the Lost Tower Forum's new weekly series of polls! (20 Already?!)

Centered around the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

No... not at all honestly... VC games can't trade regularly (except for that Zelda Game) and Trading is a major part of the series

If they get trading, I guess there is that of catering to "retro gaming" and all that. But otherwise I don't see much of a point.

Having 3D... it's not like the games look precisely beautiful: Gen I had terrible graphics. For its time. And the games take place in the same overhead plane: there are no backgrounds in the horizon nor anything that'd make good use of depth. Literally the only that would benefit from it are G/S/C in its battles, and even then it'd just be two images in different focus.

In any case I'm going to say a solid no.

I rather not, because then it'll never be 100% complete without trading, which requires using a cable in these old games. They never make any changes for the VC ports, which means they are in their original forms (it also explains why we're not getting Earthbound).

I'd like to see old pokemon generation games on the DS lite. Games like blue, yellow, red, gold, silver, crystal, and green version ( except in english ) :3

Yes, I would like to see the older games on the virtual console. If they were released as-is with no trading, then that wouldn't work, but Nintendo could easily add wireless trading between DSes or even wi-fi trading. They have done similar things before, like when they added the Wii Message Board feature to Pokémon Snap. Red and Blue being rereleased would probably make enough money to develop the games again, anyway. It'd be great for people like me who never played or have lost the original games and would like to, but don't have a Game Boy or the cartridges to play them on. As for 3D classics, I think that would just make the games look worse, almost like cardboard cutouts.

Yes, I want to have games I don't have regular access to.

Earthbound was more a copyright thing then a technical thing

Honestly, why do people care so much about trading?

When was the last time you've honestly played one of the older games and traded with someone?
How can we have a promise they won't have trades?
What difference would it make if trading wasn't enforced?

Hence why I said it'll be released on the VC outside of Japan. The VC games have to be in their pure original form since the day they were first released depending on the region you're in (that's why they didn't edited the Gruedo thieves' skin in OoT like they did on the GCN port). Because of copyright material being used in Earthbound, it won't be shipped in the U.S.

No. I would hate being unable to trade or battle with others, and I prefer playing up-to-date remakes instead of the original games nowadays.

Update: Today, Nintendo have announced that Super Street Fighter II on the Wii's Virtual Console has been updated to include Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection online play. So it is possible to add it on.

But wouldn't that destroy the game's pure original form when it was first released? They didn't add Wi-Fi connection to Mario Kart 64 and the first Super Smash Bros. game, so why did they decided to add it for Super Street Fighter II and not Street Fighter II Turbo?

"Destroy the game's pure original form"? What? I honestly doubt anyone cares about that - if they can play such a famous game online, they'll jump at the chance.

I don't know why they didn't do it with Mario Kart 64 or Super Smash Bros, but this shows that it is possible for Nintendo to do for future games.

They would be able to trade so no I'm open for updates but if you can't trade to your other games whats the point besides a little short term fun.

Absolutely not.

Oh yes, I would love to play Yellow once again (mine got stolen back when I was in grade school :().
