Hello Everynyan! Welcome to the twenty-seventh instalment in the Lost Tower Forum's new weekly series of polls! Sorry for the lack of a poll last week; my internet was down until this past Friday and I simply thought it best to wait until Monday as it was only 2 days away.

Centered around the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: Was Whitney's Miltank a problem for you? Although the species is practically ignored for being subpar, one Miltank is infamous for being cruel beyond words to some - Whitney's Miltank in the Johto-based games. How was the cow for you?

Past Polls of the Week

2) Most beneficial new generation?
3) Best Kanto Starter?
4) Should we go back to coloured cartridges?
5) First Pokémon game?
6) Best Johto Starter?
7) How old were you when you started playing?
8) Do you still play the older generations?
9) Best Hoenn Starter?

15) Do you want your Pokémon to follow you again?
16) Favourite Hoenn Gym Design?

18) Pokémon Contests - Yay or Nay?
19) Did you use the Wi-Fi Plaza?
20) Favourite Kanto Gym Leader?
21) Do you like remakes?
22) Favourite Stat Trainer?
23) Favourite Johto Gym Leader?
24) Would you like to see older games on the 3DS Virtual Console?
25) Will Platinum be the last third version?
26) Favourite Hoenn Gym Leader?

Thank you for voting!

Because Rock types take neutral damage from their types, it's not the best way to use a Geodude against Miltank due to her constant Rollout spam. There weren't any good fighting moves, and the only available fighting type at that point was a Machop, who is only obtainable via trade. However, Miltank will use Attract to stop it on tracks, forcing the player to get a female Machop, which sounds awfully wrong because of their masculine appearance. She took me down once in my original Gold copy. Good thing she was nerfed in the remakes by having Rock Smash easily accessible.

@Ghetsis-Dennis Muscle the Machop was a girl.

In the original Silver version, back when I was a sexist little a-hole with five male Pokemon to one female one, I must have lost like five times to Whitney before finally defeating her. The trick was to use the female Vulpix I had caught. She, Clair, Brawly and Winona have been the most difficult gym leaders I have ever faced.

In the remakes, she wasn't so much of an issue because I always carry multiple female Pokemon with me. HeartGold was especially easy since my female Bayleef just Magical Leaf-ed the hell out of her.

Nah, Whitney wasn't that much of a problem for me. Not when I had Nidorino/Nidorina and Double Kick.

I've never had much trouble with Whitney. I always used one or two Pokemon with status change moves, like Hoppip with Stun Spore & Leech Seed, Gastly with Curse, etc. When combined, these quickly leave Miltank helpless as its health whittles away to nothing. The Machop from the Drowzee/Abra trade makes things easier still.

Now Morty's Gengar... that's the one that gave me nightmares.

On my very first playthrough I beat her on the first try with a Noctowl. She's never been a problem for me.

In both GSC and HGSS, I was pwned by her - her Rollout kept killing my overleveled Quilava, and none of the regional pokemons there actually do any sort of damage to her. The most common way I used was poisoning her, spamming Quilava with Fire-attacks and hoping for burns, or praying while I use Togepi's Metronome. But in HGSS, I just played Voltorb Flip and bought a Dratini - After three Dragon Rages, Miltank was pwned.

It was a nightmare when I first played gold! After a while though, it wasn't so bad (but I still call it EVIL!).

When I first played G/S and battled her I thought nothing of it until that "EVIL" Miltank came along to rock the boat. I will be honest by saying that I just did not expect the strategy implied at the time and it lost me the first battle with her. After I knew what her strategy was she was very simple to beat.

Obviously she was easy pickings in HG/SS because of that experience back in Gen 2 :D

Yes. Yes it was a nightmare. I hate Attract and Rollout now.
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH TYPHLOSION WHY ARE YOU MALE. D:

I hated her in gen II, because the battle drained the batteries on my GBC.

I ended up winning due to 3 words:Critical MOTHERF****N' HIT! (w/Water Gun)

No to me. I just spam attacks that did more damage than others. Clair's Kingdra on the other hand.....

It was difficult to beat because of its attacks growing stronger and stronger, that it healed itself and that it had a lot of HP. Silver was my first Pokemon game, so this was a tough gym when I first reached it.

But the Ground type resists Rock.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about Geodude's Ground typing.

I don't remember her being as much of a nightmare as fandom portrays, but her Rollout and (especially) Attract certainly gave me some trouble when I was younger.
