Welcome to the fourth installment in the Lost Tower Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the older installments of the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: Should we go back to coloured cartridges? Every main series Pokémon game prior to the Nintendo DS had special cartridges coloured to match the version's colour (with the exception of Platinum, as DS cards are grey as standard, and Black, as Infared DS cards are black as standard); do you think this should return, or do you prefer the more generic colour?

YES! The colored cards were one of the cool things that stuck out about the origional Pokemon games. I remember all my friends thinking how cool the red game pack was. Gen 3 was the best, as they had that clear plastic. You really don't see any DS cards in colors other than black, which is kinda sad.
 
Yes the colour cartridges were part of the Pokemon games since the beginning when Gen 1 came out until Gen 3. When they went to DS I have no idea why they thought it would be better to have boring grey ones :/

I hope they eventually make the colour ones again, as that would be great for nostalgia and also great for marketing on Game Freaks side I guess. ^^
 
YES!

I remember it was so easy to just pick a cartridge based on the colour, and not bothering to read the label.
 
Isn't there an "I don't care" option? I seriously don't care about what the cartridges look like. Its what is inside that matters.
 
Yes, as:
1. Harder to bootleg
2. In game stores, makes it easier to pick out used Pokemon games amongst the endless grey GBA carts.
 
Yes,it would help me distingush them from my other ds games
 
I think this would be amazing and really make them stand out. to my knowledge I haven't seen any colored ds cartridges or whatever they are called and I feel that this would be a nice thing to see
 
They should. It was easier to pick them out that way, as well as they simply looked better than the new ones.
 
There really is absolutely no real practical purpose whatsoever to colored cartridges, don't delude yourselves.

But, it IS a pretty nice detail. The European Pokémon Black and White have actually fully black and fully white stickers, which while really minor is a little neat touch. (And well, DS cartridges are already black. And quite honestly, I think it'd look weird if a DS cartridge was of any remotely bright color, not to mention that unlike older ones they are much smaller and harder to see)

Not only would it be nostalgic, but it would make them stand out a bit more, that and it feels nice when you know a company takes in the little impractical details which make the game feel special...
 
Yes I would love this. We just recently got Black with a Black cartridge( Sorry I just had to do it lol)
 
I don't really care if the colored cartridges return or not. I just care about the games themselves. If they do return, great, and if they don't, I'm fine with it. As long as the games are good, they can do whatever they want with the cartridges.
 
Yes. They are beautiful and it preserves a certain amount of nostalgia without actually changing the game in any major way.
 
I think it'd be kinda cool. Coloured cartridges were kind of the "Pokemon thing" back in the Game Boy days. So bringing it back could be like preserving that niche.
So yeah, basically what hurristat said; it would be like a bit of nostalgia without actually changing anything that matters all that much.
 
Yes I loved them. Thats what made me buy Sapphire and LeafGreen before their counterpart...and besides I usually buy my favorite color first Silver, LeafGreen, Sapphire, Pearl, White all came first
