Welcome to the seventh installment in the Lost Tower Forum's new weekly series of polls!

Centered around the older installments of the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. Every Monday, a Video Games staff member will post a new poll that'll remained stickied up on top of the forum. Suggestions for polls and questions can be sent to Joshawott, and they could possibly used for new polls (credit will be given, of course).

With that out of the way, here is the poll: How old were you when you started playing Pokémon? Did you grow up with it as a fad and remained a loyal fan, were you one of the older fans from the very beginning, or are you a young'un who's only recently started?

I was 7 years old and started playing with Red version in 1999 but I can't remember when I got it in 1999, I expect on Christmas day because it released in Europe on 5 October 1999 and I was nearly 8 which is in a different option of the poll.
 
I was... 6? No, 7, I got Yellow for my 7th birthday and that was my first game.
 
Since the year 2000, I believe. So I've been a fan for about, oh, 11 years?

I started Red when I was... six, I think? I definitely know I was seven when I beat it. Perhaps I got it for my birthday or something.

I was already pretty familiar with videogames though.
 
I was nine I think, Yellow was my first game and I remember not getting the games until after the anime was popular. Had to sit through almost a year of watching my friends play theirs at school before I could play for myself. Though I'd borrowed my cousins Game Boy and Blue before, it was only for a weekend... giving it back was hard ;_;
 
I've been playing since Yellow came out in America, and I was very young indeed when that happened. Before I could read, I was beating Blue with a Pikachu.

Guess that shows that if you start young, you end up pretty good. Anyone who battled me recently can attest to that.
 
I played it since the very first game and I think I was 8 or 9 could have been older. Those were the days :p
 
Pokémon came out when I was in like fourth or fifth grade... so I was... nine-ish.
 
7 or 8, but it was after the first movie was released, if I remember correctly.
 
I was 6 I reemember having my gameboy, I was in the first grade and pokemon was coming out all over the place! The cards! the games! the show! all other merchandise! haha. Now I honestly can't remember if that was my first game on gameboy color that I got or not.
 
I was five years old when I first found a liking in Pokémon. No-one else was playing it at the time, so I did Yu-Gi-Oh for a year or so. I wen't back to Pokémon after that and I haven't left it since. I didn't know much about anything back in 2003, but when I got my copy of Emerald version, it was on from there. I could almost consider myself veteran now, but not quite, not quite. ^^"
 
I got my red version a couple weeks after my 10th birthday. My red Gameboy Pocket and I were definitely going places.
