Would Luna x Cullen (from Mewtwo Returns) qualify as a canon shipping?

I ask this because throughout the movie/special, there's definite chemistry between the two of them, but the real smoking gun seems to be at the end, when the bus lady asks, "Aren't you getting on the bus, you guys?" (I'm paraphrasing this.) Then Cullen says something to the extent of "Luna and I are staying at the cabin. We've found out we've got a lot more in common than we think," which to me implied that the two were basically shacking up, as it were. (Pretty daring of them to put the implication the two were "living in sin" in the dub, too, if I do say so, but I suppose it's no more daring than any of the other "questionable" things that were left in)

So, what do you think?

Yeah. When I watched that movie, I honestly thought that they got together at the end. But really, though, I can't say nothing else about it, until I watch the movie again.

I don't think it can be considered canon but that sounds like very strong evidence.

Someone should find a clip of the dialogue from the movie, so we can play/analyze it.

I've always thought they would be a good canon shipping. Though I honestly couldn't remember who they were at first (I haven't seen MR in a long time ;_; ) I think it's kind of obvious.

... Then again, maybe it isn't canon. But it just seems it to me.

I always thought it was canon. I thought the end proved it. I wonder what the Japanese line was. ^^

Well, maybe some hidden meaning was implied. But I wonder if 4Kids censored anything, like in Love,Petalburg Style.

Let's see... Giovanni drinking, Mewtwo getting crucified in a force field, Brock's extremely suggestive pickup line he used on Domino ("Let's find someplace quiet so we can line up and find out if we're a match!")... nope, don't think they censored much there.
I think the line pretty much made it clear they were shacking up, as it were.

(I'd post a link to Dogasu's comparison here, but it's down, for some reason.)

You need the new link.

And here's the comparison.
4Kids did a good job with this special. It seems as though 4Kids actually hired a translator rather than a writer, because most of the dialogue is dead-on.

But Neku, are you sure that Giovanni's drink wasn't implied to be apple juice in the dub? Because in One Piece,(which is also dubbed by 4Kids)there was a character who smokes a cigarette 24/7 and it was replaced with a lollipop in the dub.

I doubt it. Looked like alcohol in there. If it was a paint edit, we'd know.
(Though you know if anyone complained that's the explanation they'd give.)

In fantasies, they've changed his drinks... there was the Mawile one, I remember, where they made it milk or something, and there was the Chimecho one where James's wine was lightened and changed to "strawberry milk". Though I have the theory that's only because of the FCC rules on childrens' programming... drugs are a no-no.
