Who is going/wants to see Robert Rodriguez's new movie, Machete, starring Danny Trejo?

Personally, I'm pumped. I'm a huge fan of Rodriguez (Sin City is one of my fav films ever), so I must stay this is like a b-day present.

The only problem with the film is that it looks like it will be the most filthy, violent movie this year. Violence comes standard in his movies, but from the clips I've seen, this one looks worst than anything I've ever seen.

I actually saw Trejo slice a man's stomach open, rip out his intestine, grab it and bust out of a window and use it to swing himself into the window below. Not to mention the face slicing and heads being blown off. Actually OFF.

Violence doesn't bug me much, though I have been known to turn my head at times  I just hope that it isn't a movie made solely to see what they can get away with, and it actually has an awesome story. It looks promising, I'll probably see it. Though I can't figure out how in the hell it slipped past without an NC17 rating.

What do you guys think?

It is an exploitation film/B Movie. It is supposed to be as violent and sex-crazed as possible. It is done for comedic effect. Also; you have to take into account that exploitation films aren't so much about the story (though you really can't have a good exploitation film without a at least decent story), but is essentially about exploiting (hence the name) sex and violence and special effects and whatever big stars they can get. Essentially a celebration of debauchery. But it is all tongue-in-cheek.

I mean, if you are a fan of Rodriguez you shouldn't be surprised. When he isn't making kids' flicks, he is making fantastic ultra-violent romps... Sin City had plenty of ripped-off limbs (and naughty bits).

Violence doesn't typically get you an NC17 rating. Sex is what gets you that... I suggest you watch This Film is Not Yet Rated if you haven't. It is a fantastic documentary about how ridiculous the MPAA's rating system is...

But Machete should be fantastic. Of all the fake trailers before Grindhouse, Machete was the one I enjoyed most...
