Who would win in a battle? Who has the better design? And who is better overall?
 
Magikarp. Sorry but Arceus is one of the ugliest Pokemon designs ever. I can't stand the gen 4 legends' designs. Plus Magikarp turns into Gyarados, who is badass.
Arceus would win of course, but I've seen people sweep entire teams of legendaries, including Arceus, with a Magikarp. Though you have to battle against noobs who let you set up and Baton Pass all kinds of stat raises onto the Magikarp, but it's hilarious to see.
 
Arceus because well... it's Arceus, the god of Pokemon.

No amount of Baton passes will ever make that pathetic fish able to beat Arceus.
 
Of course it's risky, but again, you said that "no amount of baton passes will ever make it able to defeat Arceus" and yet, here's one beating an Arceus.
 
I really like Magikarp's design for some reason xD Same with feebas and basculin, I actually like them alot more than their evolutions... Arcreus idk it's ok lol
 
Magikarp is great. It's funny and has an awesome concept, something small becoming a badass water dragon.

Arceus, they decided to make a shit-ton of extra legends in gen four and this one in particular came out looking like absolute crap. I mean really. It's a horse with some kind of body halo? I guess?
