...is probably one of the most poorly designed evolutions ever.

Note: I'm a bit behind on the times, and haven't played Pearl/Diamond, so this is news to me. (I don't have a DS, and DS emulation isn't at it's...er...best.)

Ever since R/B/Y, I've had a Magneton. I thought/think it was pretty cool, because Magnemites getting stuck together is just, well, inexplicably awesome in itself.

I registered on Bulbapedia a few days ago (probably yesterday, my memory is just as good as my knowledge of the recent games) and looked at Magneton's page, and tried to find spelling mistakes, missing information, et cetera. When I saw the Evolution section, at first I thought it was some sort of in-joke, but it wasn't.

To me, Magnezone looks like one of Magneton's Magnemites started to balloon for no reason, and the other two Magnemites, stuck to it, got slammed into the middle one and their magnets fell off. The impact then caused the middle Magnemite's screw to fall off, causing some sort of glitch in it's machinery, making a yellow monstrosity pop out of it in order to prevent further damage. Then the Magneton picked up the working magnets and used them as 'arms' and flew away, dazed, and sadly had children.

It looks like Game Freak/Nintendo hired Picasso to draw Magneton's evolution.

I wonder what else happened to other Pokemon. :|

Some of the other Pokemon are none too impressive visually. I like Magnezone for its competitive potential, but not for the graphics.

Well yeah-the stats are fine/better, just like in every evolution. :D

I thought it was fine myself, I mean the idea was that you took it to MT. cornet to level it up and due to the conditions in altitude or whatever it melted/fused together when it's magnetic field became too powerful for it's current form.

You know what amazes me with you people is that you complain and complain about design, yet you never actually describe what you think it should look like.

I mean I'm always baffled at the fact that most people who complain about his design seem completely fine with Magneton merely being three Magnemites stick together. Quite frankly, I'm wondering what they wanted? Three Magnetons stuck together? They never explain. It's also fairly sad how, whenever they describe what they hate about it, they seem to have this sarcastic tone about them. But atleast your explanation is plausable and I would actually except that as what could have happened, unlike another user who says that Togekiss is "a dusnparce with muffins for ears and toilet paper wrapped arpund it's body."

Honestly, I think that their design for Magnezone was good, especially if you take into consideration it's method of evolution. It evolves through special electromagnetic waves. This could have caused the three separate parts to bond more strongly onto each other forming Magnexzone's body, but also left some of their original parts sticking out. THere's obviously one dominant being in their three mag structure, and that special electro magnetic wave would have given it the power to over power the other two.

I actually had the exact opposite reaction with this guy. The dominant one got larger by converting the raw material from the other two, probably through a form of nano technology (similar to the Darkheart) and became one entity of sentience; as opposed to the hive-mind of Magneton.

The antenna just looks a little goofy.

You want to look at a dumb looking cross-generational evolution, look at

Picasso designing Pokémon. Now THAT'D kick ass.

Yes, yes it would.

If any pokemon that Nintendo has made this gen is fugly, It's Bastidon. :dead:

Magnezone, however, doesn't really bug me that much.

lol.

@"L": Honestly, I never expected it to evolve. Two generations went by, and I thought it would be left alone. Maybe not completely, because the general trend after Gen I was to make all previous pokemon evolve in a general way:

Weakest>Middle>Strongest;
(e.g. Pichu[new]>Pikachu>Raichu)

And if it [Magneton] did, I thought it would be some pre-evolution. Honestly, unlike most, I will admit this: I could not have done any better. Sticking more Magnemites to it wouldn't have worked [and would have looked stupid], making it bigger would have failed, and as for pre-evolutions, Magnemite is one of the simplest Pokemon in any of the games.

I think it should have stayed the same, honestly. Although, when I first wrote the first post to this topic, I had just seen it, and; it had taken some getting used to, but it doesn't look as horrible as it did originally.

You know, speaking of Pokemon we thought would never evolve, have you seen tangrowth yet? I'm actually impressed at the fact they managed to evolve Tangela and not make it that bad. Although people keep saying it's too simplistic, but then again those very same people love the simplistic designs of Kanto, and hate the newer designs, yet complain when they are given what they want.

I find it amazingly cool. When me and my brother were looking through Bulbapedia for the first time and we saw that, I though it was the best looking new evo, after Weavile. The antenna is part of the whole UFO look, and the Magnetmites are its shoulders. The magnets combined from six to three, and the middle screw turned into an antenna.

Welcome to September 2006. Many fans had the initial "ZOMG it's new! I hate it!" knee-jerk reactions. Most of those complaints fell by the wayside as time went on.

Personally, I like Magezone's design just as much as I like the designs of Magnemite and Magneton.

When you said that, I was immediately reminded by this site.

Ahh, the good times of whining about the 4th gen Pokemon.

Dude, that sight is funny! And they got like, 5 replys?!

I'm odd as a pokemon fan. Nothing bothers me.

Lol at Habunake shout out.

I wouldn't be as annoyed by these people, if you kow, their complaints were logical.

My favorite is always "[insert evolution] ruined it's pre evo!"

It's as if they think they are forced to evolve >_>

magnezone isn't so bade imo
lickylicky's pretty funny lookin but i think the worst monstrosity is probopass or whatever its called

First time I saw Magnezone, my immediate reaction was "Digital camera swallowed a frisbee." Now I absolutely love it.
