I dunno if there's already a thread for this, but does anyone else wanna see a main series Wii game?

There's a lot of talk about the almost inevitable RSE remakes probably coming in GEN V, but there's also lots of talk about possible FR LG remakes. I want this, but for the Wii.

I think it could be current day Legend of Zelda like gameplay, or perhaps something like KOTOR (for any of you have played it) were your character runs around the beautiful, expanded, Kanto region. You would be able to see Pokemon before you encountered them, and you would have to properly track them down. The only problem I can't get passed is battling.

Any thoughts?

The Wii'll soon be replaced by whatever's going to come after (just give it a couple of years).

As long as it's no Shadow Pokémon story. Collosseum was horrible, XD was much better at handling it, but I still don't want it.

If anything, I wan't a Stadium 3 (Stadiums for battling, Oak's Lab for extra storage and data managing, Mini-games just because). Even without the GB Tower, all that'll be just fine if they'd actually release this one to the public (Pokémon Box never was released outside New York City and I resent that)

Why would there be two pairs of remakes. Maybe they could remake Emerald and Yellow this time as a pair, but not four games at once.

Why do we need a FRLG remake? HGSS hasn't even been out for a year yet!

Is revisiting the Kanto region every three or four years not enough for people?

...maybe they just wanna revisit Kanto because the GBA's pretty much obselete!? Y'know, visit the origins of it all!?

I think it would be too hard to control using the Wii.

Or put the time and effort towards something new and not so overrated. If Kanto gets into Gen V somehow I might just cry.

As for the topic, I want a decent PBR before the Wii is succeeded.

1. Nothing beats a classic. I still yern for an Emerald. T.T

2. Don't worry. Something big's gotta top the Wii, and that'll be a long time from now! I'm sure they'll make a game similar to Collosseum and XD!

They are probably going to make another PBR for gen V. Hopefully it will be much better then pbr was.
They won't make a main series game for the wii though. The closest we had to one on a console was Colo/XD.

^ Yeah, a PBR remake would be great. I just hope they include a story line this time.

RSE/ FRLG remakes on Wii? Unlikely. They'll probably forever stay on handheld consoles like they have since Red and Green.

Actually, there was going to be a console Pokemon game for N64 - basically, it was set in Kanto and probably followed R/G's plot. But it's hard to find any more information than that.

Oh, and it was supposedly going to be made by Game Freak.

That never happened - I suspect that it had something to do with the 3D models. I don't think Sugimori-san had much experience working with them.

Now that they can make 3D models, GF still won't do it.

Masuda-san says it would be "going against tradition."

Kind of like half the useless crap you add, huh Masuda-san. As I recall, there was only one event legend per gen before you took charge.

Kanto is in HG/SS. On the Nintendo DS.

It's also not hard to a) find a store that sells a Nintendo DS Lite, which can play GBA games, and b) find a copy of FR or LG.

Source?

Or, is this just another Internet rumor?

Um hello? Does Colloseum or XD ring a bell to you all? We need a Shadow Pokemon remake with the blue haired dude as the main cynanical genuis!

But HG and SS hasnt been out for 12 months yet

I always wanted a BIG mainstream game for the generations main console as a kid, something like The four swords adventure on game cube.

My main problem with the pokemon games are that they feel very short, heck let's go big, make a console game, stick with simpler graphics it'll do fine, Revisit all the regions, complete all the challanges, make tons of tons of side quests and puzzles even harder then hoens, force people to take notes to solve them.

i jus want 1 game...every single pokemon...every single badge....every single region. up the max lvl to 200 or something. make it like the show for the most part.

I don't get it either... to have a remake of FR/LG is essentially having a remake of a remake, which makes no sense at all... and pointless.

Anyhoo... for a main series Wii game... you bet your ass I'd like to see another one. I'd like it to be another RPG, but something different from the Shadow Pokemon plot (even though I absolutely LOVE playing XD).

This may be a bit of a stretch... but I'm assuming another Wii game might come out next fall (Japan), beings this fall we already have Black and White coming out (again, Japan). Now, this theory is going partially by the last one that was released, Pokemon Battle Revolution. PBR was released in Japan about 3 months after Diamond and Pearl were released. But I think it might be a tad-bit pushing it to expect another Wii game to be released a couple months after B/W in that manner... especially since Colosseum wasn't released until 2 years after Ruby and Sapphire were released.

I honestly can't say when a new Wii game would come out... but if I was forced to chose, my best bet would probably sometime next year or so.:-/ There's no doubt that some kind of new Pokemon game for Gen V, outside the main series handhelds, is going to come out next year... it's just a matter of when and what.

Interestingly, I believe the question of a console main game has been posed to a couple of the folks over at GameFreak. It goes as follows:

G4: A lot of G4 readers love the Pokemon series, but want to see a proper Pokemon role-playing game on a home console, or even a Pokemon MMO. Do you see that ever happening?

JM: One of the core concepts of the Pokemon games is trading. You can trade within the game, but you can also go out and meet with your friends to trade. You can talk with your family and friends as you play Pokemon. For this concept, the most suitable hardware is portable, like the Nintendo DS. That's why we focus on portable game systems.

From here

So, I guess a main-series Wii game is possible. It wasn't said, "We will not make a main series game for a console." I'm thinking, though, that it's pretty unlikely. I'm betting more on us running into things like Colosseum or XD, which conspicuously avoid being main Pokemon games, or Battle Revolution... not something like a remake of Ruby/Sapphire.

I agree...

Actually, (in Japan at least) it was released exactly one year after Ruby and Sapphire were released.
