hi. basically i struggled through the elite 4 with luck and i now find myself in kanto. i changed team quite a lot before and now realise im in a pickle. my team is as follows:
Vaporeon-42-(aurora beam/water gun/bite/surf)
Ampharos-43-(thunder/discharge/charge/signal beam)
Lugia-49-(fly/extrasensory/hydro pump/aeroblast)
Typhlosion-47-(blast burn/flamethrower/rollout/secret power)
Dragonair-42-(aqua tail/slam/thunder wave/ dragon rush)
Gengar-32-(confuse ray/shadow claw/sucker punch/ mean look)

they are obviously drastically underleveled..
my problem is: i cant find anywhere with wild pokemon high enough level to grind them on.
how far are they behind what they should be?
where can i level them?
im considering dropping lugia, imo he sucks.. i dunno.
im even considering starting again im that pissed off.
help guys :(?
also any move/team suggestions are very very very welcome!
+ if people say learn a certain move, how do i go about doing it, there are only some TM'S available to buy from goldenrod right?
thanks a lot
if you've taken the time to read this please reply cos im rly desperate here :(

1. What are you struggling with? The gym leaders?

2. Victory Road is the only place to grind until you beat all 16, right? So go to Victory Road and sweat it out.

I like to level up using the Elite Four until I get to Mt. Silver. It's a rather expensive way to do it, but it works for me.

Not if you ditch all your money with your mom it's not.

yeah the electric and psychic gym leaders are hard for me. also dont you think they're underleveled?
or a bad team?
my friend thinks i should restart :(
victory road as in the cave with the like lvl 30's in ?
+ u can battle the elite 4 more than once? :O

1. They're a little under-leveled, but it's not that bad.

2. Your friend's an idiot. Don't throw away everything you've done in the game up til now. You're just going to end up in this same situation again.

3. Yes, it's the cave with the 30s in it just before the Elite Four. Is this your first Pokémon game?

4. I refer you to the question I just asked.

ah i see. okay assuming i grind elite four over n over, what do u think about the team balance. move and pokemon wise? no its not i havent played in ages tho.
thanks for taking the time to help!

Well you need to spend money on revives and potions (Unless your pokemon are super, super strong.)

Seems fine to me. I honestly dont like playing with Lugia, so if it were me I'd ditch Lugia for either a Grass, Psychic or Ground/Rock/Fighting type, which ever you like using most.

You don't need Watergun, Surf, Hydro Pump, and Aqua Tail on three different pokes, I can tell you that.

i EV trained the red gyarados (aqua tail/earthquake/ice fang/dragon dance - adamant 252Atk/252Spe/4dgaf) & it swept the elite 4 at about level 50 - 2 dragon dances start up & it goes through their teams like a hot knife through butter

so yeah just EV train a decent pokemon with a stat boosting move & annihilate them

without sounding retarded i dont know what ev means. or how stat train a pokemon :( also. the moves that dont come with a pokemone (ie tm moves) where do i get them ? sorry if i sound like a new idiot. its just it'd rly help to know this stuff?

When someone says EV they are talking about a Pokemon's Effort Values. Each Pokemon give a certain Effort Value, such as Magikarp giving one Speed Effort Value.

I would really try balancing out your team first, as you don't need four Water-type attacks on different Pokemon. I would suggest focusing on the Elite Four and Lance's weaknesses and make those your moves.

For Will and his Psychic-type Pokemon try Bug, Dark, or Ghost moves. If you could get a Dark-type Pokemon as well that would easily take him out quickly as his Psychic moves won't affect it.

For Koga and his Poison-type Pokemon I would suggest Psychic or Ground type moves.

The Fighting type Elite Four member, Koga would be good to use a Flying or Psychic type moves.

For the final Elite Four member, Karen I would suggest going with Bug or Fighting moves.

Last for the Champion Lance, your only choices are Ice and Dragon type moves since most of his Pokemon are Dragon-type. I would suggest training your Dragonite a bit more as you may have some trouble challenging him.

Also, make sure you have some sort of Water type move as Koga has his Onix that can easily be taken down along with Lance's Charizard.
