Hooray! My very first ever thread AND post in the Bulbagarden forums!

Anyhoo, My name's Kyri! And when I'm not preoccupied being a Hylian, I like to be a Linoone in my spare time. So, since I'm most certainly considered a noob at this point, I think I'll make myself known in the Grotto, as suggested.

I guess I'll start with Pokemon. I've been a fan since Pokemon itself was still young. I was six years old when Red and Blue version were released in America. It was kind of the final push into nerd-dom for me. :3 I had Pokemon Blue Version. And I remember it being the worst thing in the world when I was face to face with Articuno and I was told my box was full! Ah youth. xD
My very first Pokemon card was a Horsea, that somebody gave me when I was in second or third grade, I think. I've still got it tucked safely away in my card binder, which has since filled itself with a plethora of other Pokemon, both old and new, that I collect casually. You can see the gaps in the pages get wider as the generations progress.

Well, Gold Silver Crystal came out in 2000, when I was eight years old, but I never acquired a copy because I was ENTIRELY too busy saving Hyrule from Ganondorf. (And working up the courage to fight redeads, which just so happen to scare me badly enough to make me forever afraid of Zombies and other dead things.)

Then the Hoenn region in 2003. Glory, a region of Pokemon for me! The Hoenn region is still today my favorite. And I hope to see a re-done ten year adversary edition of this in three years. :3 It spawned some of my very favorite Pokemon, including precious Linoone, and the berry system that was simply fantastic. And the secret bases were the kicker. Best. Idea. Ever. Too bad it wasn't reused with it's proper shine. I went to living in a magnificent patch of grass right in front of a berry garden that overlooked a pond with rolling clouds overhead, to living in the dirt in a corner of the underground. The plush and grassy carpet beneath my feet became rocks. And the unseen Keckleon that lazily patrolled my door became unseen traps in the floor that flung me further and further from my precious home. As you can tell, I wasn't a fan of the underground. The constant flow of heart scales was nice, but that was about it. I had no problems pick-pocketing Luvdiscs that were plentiful in the Hoenn seas. Diamond Version really left me with a longing for a more fun Pokemon game. Well my Diamond version was lifted from me, which honestly wouldn't have been such a great loss if the thief hadn't also taken my DS, my precious Ruby version, and my very favorite Pokemon game of all time, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time.

PMD2 is, hands down, THE GREATEST Pokemon game I have ever played. I believe only two video games have ever had a powerful enough story to make me cry. PMD2 was one of them. Come the end of the game, I was crying so hard I couldn't see the screen. For those of you that haven't played it, I won't ruin it for you. Just go out and get yourself a copy. DO IT! Majora's Mask was the only other game that was capable of making me cry. And it holds a place of honor as my favorite game of all time, and probably the best game ever created, in my opinion.

Anyways, I got a new DS recently, and Pokemon Heart Gold. I'm totally in love with this game, and have been playing it non-stop since I got it. I stroll through yellow forest with my Pokemon regularly, and I'm an avid Pokemon breeder.

I'm already excited for Pokemon Black and White, and the release of the 3DS. I plan on getting both.

Alright. This post is already WAAAAAY too long, so I'll leave you with my HG friend Code: 3009 0372 9742
Wifi with me sometime. :3
Well... There's loads of straight roads that need to be run, and round objects that aren't going to collect themselves, so ciao for now! ♥

Welcome to BMGF! Love your intro! I first got into Pokemon when I was either five or six, with FireRed. ^_^

But it's nice to see someone who's been with it since the beginning!

Wow a nice long intro!
OMG yes Hoenn is still my favourite region too, therefore RSE are my favourite games and I also want to see a remake/sequel/whatever of them in about 3 years.
Anyway welcome to the forums, have lots of fun here and seeya around!! :D

Welcome to the forums Linoone! Have fun and enjoy.
Really liked the intro.
Where are you in HG?

Thanks.

I've got all 16 gym badges, but I haven't beaten Red yet. I've been too busy makin' babies! :D It's paid off, though because the other day I hatched myself a little silver Eevee. ;D I'm going to turn him into an Umbreon, I think. I really like the sprite for Umbreon in this game, and he'll look pretty sharp with the yellow eyes and blue rings. Now I just need to pick a move set for him, and decide if I want to EV train him or just let him grow naturally.

Oh, nice!
Same here, still need to beat him :p

Are you just randomly breeding pokes?
Or are you breeding for IV's?

How long did it take you to hatch a shiny?
Sounds like you got lucky with the hatch lol.

IMHO, I think you should EV him.
He could be a valued member of your team against Red.

Check out Smogon for movesets if you aren't sure what to teach him.
GL, tell me how it goes.

Thanks.

@Chebon: I did get lucky breeding him. VERY lucky. xD I mean, my odds were quite a bit better than usual, seeing as I had my Japanese ditto in the daycare. But I was just breeding Eevees at the time for females. No particular IVs in mind. I recently set up the parents for an epic Ledian. I want a shiny Ledian with an adamant nature and an IV in attack of 31. So I've been breeding Ledyba left and right. I know my odds are about 1 in 2048, but I've got the patience for it. I've got my Surskit with a 31 attack IV and his power bracer, and my Japanese Ledyba, adamant with an everstone. Wish me luck. Now I just have to wait. xD

Wow, lmao.
I wish I had the luck you did.
That's true, but still, that's pretty lucky heh.
Good to hear about someone whose trying to train up a pokemon that isn't very popular.
Damn, you have a lot of patience for all of this :p
I'd be done in the first hour of so.
GL, let me know how it goes :)

Thanks.
