Manga Characters in the anime

Most of the characters in the Pokemon Special manga seem to have appeared in the anime.

We have:

Red as Ash
Green as Gary
Gold as Jimmy
Crystal as Marina
Sapphire as May
and possibly Silver as Shinji

Blue and Ruby have only appeared in screenshots - Blue in the first TV opening, "Pokemon Theme", and Ruby in one movie (can't remember which one).

That leaves Emerald, Diamond, and Pearl who need introducing, but I'm wondering if Blue in particular will ever appear in the anime.

Wouldn't that just be awesome if Blue came into it at some point? Say as a rival Morrison style, only instead of battling in the early rounds, she and Ash meet in the finals of the Shinou Championship!

And Hikari is whatever the third-gen game will be called.

But that's just because the characters for both the anime and Pokémon Special are based on the game characters. Unlike the cameos of the characters of the original Pocket Monsters manga series in Lights, Camerupt, Action.
 
Seriously, do not attempt to draw comparisons between PokeSpecial characters and anime characters. They are NOT matching counterparts. The only reason there are similarities is because both the anime and PokeSpecial base characters off the games, but the anime tends to ignore characters and invent their own to replace them. LIke Shinji in place of either of the D/P males. (And some say Drew in place of Wally.)

FYI, "Silver" actually showed up in the Raikou special in the opening theme, so Shinji is DEFINITELY not supposed to be the anime version of the GSC rival.

Like I said, attempt to match PokeSpecial chars with anime chars and you will PHAIL. "Blue", "Diamond", and "Pearl" are NOT going to show up in the anime unless they do a special like they did with the GSC characters, and Emerald will *DEFINITELY* never show up in the anime because he, like Yellow, is a character specific to PokeSpecial and not based off of a game character.
 
The only Anime Characters were Red, Clefairy, Pikachu and Grace was Crytal's "Mama" it appeared
 
Did Mitsuru/Wally ever appear? I heard it once, but don't recall seeing the episode.

Ah, and as for Blue, was she the one who "KYAAA"ed (if that's a word) in "Pokemon Theme"? *shot down* In English, it was during "a heart so true". I always thought that she was just a lass....

Let me set this straight - I wasn't asking if it is a reasonable assumption to make that the manga characters will appear at some point in time. I was asking peoples opinions on whether they thought it would add or detract to the anime if one such as Blue was introduced to the plot as one of Ash's rivals.
 
FR/LG Girl being a rival of Ash would be awesome.

I would perfer for her to be recurring though.

And that was not her in opening. If they had intended that to be her, she would have been wearing the blue dress as seen in Sugomori art. That was definetly Lass.
