Special gets a disproportionate amount of coverage compared to the other series. I mean in articles about pokémon species and about characters who appear in other places. Sure sometimes the role is larger (compare Giovanni in Special to How I Became A Pokemon Card, but even then one blurb, crammed in at the bottom, about the PokeWake story hardly seems fair), but sometimes it's larger elsewhere (compare the Special information under Pikachu to the Magical Pokemon Journey information for the same species--the articles are about the same size, but the Special one covers plots while the MPJ one doesn't, even though Pikachu has a much larger role in them in that series).
And in cases like Evil Teams, it seems only the anime and Special count. Mask of Ice is listed as a Team Rocket leader, but not Grey, and characers like Kaede, Hitoshi, and Yurika don't seem to exist at all (although yes, Hitoshi doesn't join TR until after his story, so he may not count anyway, but the other two do).
Some manga-only abilities don't seem to be represented at all, such as Articuno's apparent ability to grant wishes in Magical Pokemon Journey (and that it owns a snow cone store), or how Slowpoke have the ability to pacify people in Dengenki Pikachu.
And character changes in anime-based manga aren't covered much at all either, such as Drew looking like a human Roselia in (OK, I don't know the name but it follows the rough plot from Johto to Hoenn), or Ono's two drastically different versions of Giovanni (or how there's TWO GIOVANNIS in Pocket Monsters).
So yeah, this is just a sampling of things. Please remember there's other mangas out there.
