Blaaahh....I'm going to have to wait until later tonight or tomorrow to get my hands on the game. For some reason Blockbuster is getting the game a week late....I'm so distraught....THIS GAME LOOKS AMAZING!:unworthy:
 
I chose Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble over Mario Kart DS :p Mario Kart will be more of a Christmas present for me.
 
I got it tuesday and I like it a lot so far. It's got insane replay value. Online play works just fine :)

Got the game, have no WI-FI access yet. Will work on that. I think this game shows a slight flaw in the DS's design though. I'm still working on the most comfortable way to hold the DS so I don't get pain in my thumb. Game's great though. Retro Cup in particular is fantastic.
 
I plan to pick a copy up later today.

Did all you Aussies get the game in your country already, or did you all import your copies? Because I just assumed that Nintendo of Australia would make you guys wait until like 2007 before they bothered to bring it over to you guys.
 
Yeah, one of the few miracles for Australia with their games. And I was also really shocked that they got the WI-FI going so soon too.
 
So soon? We can connect to the global stuff, but EB is saying they won't have their infrastructure up until Metroid Prime Hunters.

Of course, their own press release contradicts what the people in the stores are telling me, so I expect there's just a screwup in the communications chain...
 
I'm just curious...how does this online business work? XD Can you only play with people whose friend codes you know? Is there a central lobby of some sort? Do games feature voice chat?
 
I don't think I need to go on about how good this game is. If you have the game, you already know, and if you don't....you probably don't own a DS.

is Mario Kart ds exactly like 64? Or are the courses different? Because right now I play 64 MK. Cuz I'm getting sick of only having Mario64

It's extremely similar to 64, but there have been some new items added (Blooper, Bob-Omb, Bullet Bill, Golden Mushroom) along with four new characters (ROB the robot, Waluigi, Daisy, and Dry Bones).

In addition, there are 32 different courses.

16 are brand new.

The others are remakes of these courses from older Mario Kart games:

Chocco Island 2

N64:
Moo Moo Farm
Frappe Snow Land
Chocco Mountain
Banshee Boardwalk

GBA:

This game is heaps of fun, even for noobs like me, (I still can't do that thing where you drift and then speed up, damnit!). I don't know how the whole wi-fi thing works, but once I figure it out I'll put my code up

R.O.B. isnt exactly a robot...look closer and you can see that he's made of NES controllers. Or some kinda NES apparatus. lol.

DK + R.O.B. standard kart = absolute ownage. Cant touch this.

Too bad I dont have Wi-Fi access yet..o_O.
