I thought I would share this with everyone. The other day I found out that Nintendo and Sega will team-up again to release a second Mario & Sonic game. It's called, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, and will be based on the upcoming 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The game will come out in Late 2009 and will feature controls to use the Wii Balance Board (from Wii Fit).

I must say I was a little surprise by the news, since I do have the original Mario & Sonic and thought of it as a novelty game at best.

I guess that means that Nintendo and Sega will be releasing Mario & Sonic games every two years now (or at least until Sega losses the rights to make Olympic video games).

Up next, Mario & Sonic at the 2012 London Olympics it seems will be a safe bet at this point.

Here’s the link to check it out: http://www.olympicvideogames.com/ http://www.olympicvideogames.com/

The first game sold like hot-cakes, and it's still in the top 10 on all consoles across the board here in the UK, so a sequel is of no surprise.

What's really frustrating about this, uhh, series however, is that it has so much potential, staring the developers right in the face, extreme close-up style. But chances are they're not going to bother implementing anything from either universe, or incorporate the character's unique skills, instead choosing to churn out another shoddy mini-game crap-fest to further line their pockets with oodles of cash.

But hey. If I'm proven wrong, you won't see me disappointed.

Well, I doubt they are going to be using things like Mario power ups and chaos emeralds (they could, but I doubt it)... but all I care about is if they use the balance board and maybe the motion plus when necessary.
