I rented it.

To me, Mario Strikers is that typical of Nintendo spin off products; great concept, pretty good gameplay, spoonful's of humour and originality, but this game was utterly ruined with the AI implementation, ultimately this game depends on luck most of the time, it's not about skill at all. You just have to be... well lucky. It's one of the reasons I didn't enjoy this game much. You're faced with near-impossible odds, it's just completely random.

To be honest though, the Wi-Fi mode impressed me quite a bit. And playing with people that actually use skill instead of lucky and cheap tactics, feels good after playing a hard-ass single player mode.

It's still pretty meh though. Not fantastic, but some value is there.
