It may not be the right place for advice but try using the move 'mean look'. That way the roamers can't escape and you can keep throwing ultraballs until you catch em.

I could do it right now. Just give me about 15-20 minutes so I can migrate them up from emerald. I see you have heartgold, could you trade me a growlithe? And how many do you need, just 3?
