i love sharing my pokemon playthroughs. this is perfect for me
since i tend to play multiple games at once & just kind of cycle over to whatever i feel like/have the energy to play, this thread won't be for just one playthrough. so sorry about the mess, in advance. i'll have both old and modern pokemon games going on in here. i'll have z-a in here when i get it.
most of what i do is on real hardware. there will be pictures of my face in here at some point.
things i'm currently doing
yellow playthrough: bobby fulbright theme team
i've always seen pikachu & especially raichu as bobby-mons! i built a theme-team and decided to actually go through with it & do a full playthrough, since i never started a file on my VC yellow after buying it. this will be a rare gen 1 playthrough where i use no glitches or exploits. bobby wouldn't play that way!! and something you might wanna note about how i do these kind of pre-planned playthroughs: i don't catch anything that isn't on this list -- unless i need to for HM purposes -- which means IT'S JUST PIKACHU FOR A WHILE!
red playthrough: contains ace attorney: dual destinies spoilers
after starting the bobby playthrough, i thought it would be fun to do one themed after the big bad, too. in contrast to the bobby playthrough, this one will be full of glitches and exploits. and explosions. also i don't fucking remember why i put alakazam on here & it's bothering me lmao
collecting ribbons on mr deathy, the giratina i caught in platinum

this giratina that accidentally snuck his fucking way into my heart over the years. it started with the idea of a contest giratina being really funny, and from there i just kept collecting ribbons, made especially fun for me by the fact that giratina was banned from most of the battle towers. it meant less ribbons i needed to collect, and without battle frontier-ing, which i don't like doing. i like raising & interacting with my mons outside of battle way more than i do actually battling.
anyway there aren't that many ribbons left, i just need to figure out the trick to that new contest ribbon in bd/sp.
collecting ribbons on wish, the jolteon i named after my beagle
this is wish, a jolteon from fire red's celadon city -- i soft reset until i'd get a female, then soft reset that until i got the IVs needed for hidden power ice or grass. i ended up with grass. this is the only time i've ever tried for a specific hidden power, and it was just regular soft resetting, no rng manipulation. she's named after my beagle, seen here, who passed in 2019.
here's her current ribbon progress. the checklist is cropped from the one in this reddit post. when i get up to the switch games, i'll start including obtainable marks, too.
FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST TEAM BUILDING TIPS FOR THOSE LAST D/P/PT RIBBONS. i'm procrastinating because i dont want to build a battle team. i'm bad at it.

because i genuinely have that many pokemon
because my pokemon ranch is super cute
just because & the amount of people that can do this is getting smaller & smaller
the real anxiety behind this is that it's my diamond version that's connected to my pokemon ranch and my diamond version is having problems -- my original 3ds as well as my dsi won't even read it, only the ds lites do -- and presumably my 2ds, but i don't want to really attempt that until the moment i'm ready to backup the save. oh yeah, and my wii u is packed. might be a little bit until i can get back to this one.

- some kind of platinum replay
- some kind of pearl replay
- some kind of pmd replay, my gay ass life is incomplete without an ongoing pmd playthrough
- crystal clear as simon blackquill, once i finish the sprites
- probably other things too.
- please avoid the red version playthrough if you know nothing about ace attorney or haven't finished dual destinies yet. it can spoil an entire ass 30-hour game for you. the yellow playthrough is about a dual destinies character too, but it's spoiler-free.
- and any comments on that red version playthrough, as a result, should be spoilered.
- please don't ask if i cheated. because i will say so if i do.
- my playthroughs can be GLITCH AND EXPLOIT HEAVY. i do not care what you think of this.
- we love gen 7 in this house.
- other than that i don't care how often u reply or what kind of comment you have! questions, memes, basically anything except quoting an entire long post & saying "me too" at the end
