Magic is a powerful force in our world. Over the course of history, the creatures of Earth have harnessed it to the best of their ability. Humans, in particular, have devoted centuries to mastering magic. Since its discovery, it has become a huge part of society. In particular, magic has been a deciding factor in wars. Those who control magic have become valuable members of society. As such, fledgling mages go through special training to master their magic. You are one of these mages attending the Meaxmiton Academy of Sorcery.

Human: Humans are the most inexperienced of all species that use magic. They have untold ceilings when it comes to potential, but have quite a ways to go as a species. It isn't their prowess in magic that they have going for them at this point, but their versatility. They are able to learn many different types of magic.
Tarutaru: Tarutaru are masters of magic, and more proficient than even most species of demons in this respect. Like humans, they are extremely versatile in what kind of magic they can use. However, they tend to be more pacifistic, opting to dedicate their time to studies. Tarutaru can live for hundreds of years, yet never visibly age.
Elf: Elves are among the most powerful magic users. They are also extremely graceful and athletic, making great melee fighters as well. Elves and Tarutaru are quite hostile towards one another, though it's more lopsided on the elves' side. Like Tarutaru, Elves lives for hundreds of years.
Demon: Demons include devils, vampires, werewolves, gorgons, dragons, and succubi/incubi. As a whole, demons are geared more towards black magic, and are among the most powerful. They don't co-exist well with angels at all.
Angel: Angels are primarily geared towards white magic, and aren't the most powerful in combat, but are far stronger than humans, and aren't in good relations with demons.

Abilities: Mystic Arts- Ciana is capable of casting up to mid level black magic that includes fire, ice, water, lightning, wind and earth. She can also imbue her sword with these elements, though it's weaker through the sword. Being an elf, she's naturally athletic and strong, but without her sword, she's limited in melee combat.
Appearance: No one really knows what Ciana looks like, save for her face, since she always wears a heavy black cloak that conceals everything, even shadowing her face. Under her hood, she has long jet black hair and hazel eyes that always appear depressed and distant. At 6'1", she's rather imposing.
Personality: Ciana usually stays quiet and withdrawn, keeping her hood up to block out the rest of the world. With her hood up, she emits vibes that repel people so that she can stay in her shell. Unfortunately, her mysterious nature and her prowess in combat make her popular enough to be elected the third-year class spokesperson. With her hood down, people see her true persona, a scared, vulnerable little girl who has nightmares every night and always hallucinates and hears explosions and screams in her head. This leads to spontaneous crying fits and/or viciously attacking a nearby person she thinks is trying to kill her. She secretly hates anything related to combat, being a sufferer of PTSD. However, because of the pedestal on which everyone places her, she's compelled to rise to any challenge, no matter how inconvenient. When she has to fight, she becomes a cold, ruthless, pragmatic tactician who has trouble differentiating between friend and foe due to her mental issues. No one has ever seen her without her cloak on, which has spawned rumors that those who see her without her cloak don't live to tell the tale.
History: Ciana lived her life as a child soldier, having been trained in both magic and swordsmanship from the time she was able to walk and talk. Over the years, she forced herself to become a ruthless warrior to preserve her own life. When she was 12, she was able to escape the constant cycle of killing or being killed, but found that she would be haunted forever by the trauma of killing and seeing those close to her die. She was mentally and socially stunted, but she felt she couldn't afford to let her weakness be seen by anyone, so she began wearing a cloak and forced herself to believe that it would protect her fragile inner self from the world. When she discovered that she would still need to fight, she began seeking ways to improve both her magic and swordsmanship, and adopted the mindset of an emotionless recluse to ward people away so no one would see who she really was. In her previous two years at Meaxmiton Academy, she was consistently a top performing student, and extremely popular to the point that she gets unwanted attention from everyone, but no one knows who she really is.

His physical strength and speed are impressive for humans, but rather underwhelming by demon standards. His demon heritage gives him a passive healing factor, though his human side dilutes it.
Appearance: Calvin measures at 6'5" and 250 pounds, most of which is muscle. He has platinum-blonde hair that he wears short and slicked back, and brown eyes that turn crimson when he's using his powers. He typically wears an all black jacket-shirt-pants outfit with regular black shoes.
Personality: Calvin is normally quiet and reserved, preferring to operate with a small circle. This is mainly due to his powers surfacing and scaring people away. He prefers to make friends through psychological manipulation. He knows people are naturally drawn to the unknown in their perpetual thirst for knowledge. By making himself as much of an unknown, he plans to draw people to him without them knowing. When someone gets hostile, he decides to let his inner demon loose. If he's fighting something he can't overpower, he'll use pragmatic, underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand. He doesn't like the fact that his powers are stereotypically evil, but knows he can't change it, so he embraces the darkness and uses it as his greatest strength.
