The next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Mega Evolution Series has been officially announced in a press release by The Pokémon Company International. Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames will release in the US, Canada, Australia & New Zealand from November 14th. The set will primarily contain cards from the Japanese Inferno X expansion, which releases there on September 26th, along with the MEGA Starter Sets for Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex that release this Friday September 5th.

As of writing, no release has yet been confirmed for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Based on the recent delay of the Mega Evolution expansion on those markets, we anticipate the release of Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames in those markets from around November 28th.

As with its Japanese equivalent set, Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames will provide various supporting Pokémon and Trainer cards for the new Mega Evolution Pokémon, with a notable focus on some Fire and Darkness types such as the set's central Pokémon, Mega Charizard X ex and Mega Gengar ex.

Players and collectors can expect the set to include the following:
  • A total of over 120 new cards
  • 6 Mega Pokémon ex
  • 4 Pokémon ex
  • 10 new Trainer cards
  • 35 full art cards, including:
    • 13 illustration rate Pokémon
    • 17 ultra rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, Trainer, and Energy cards
    • 5 special illustration rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Supporter cards
Physical pre-release tournaments for this set will begin from November 1st at participating locations worldwide. As usual, Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames will also be available for players of the Pokémon TCG Live app one day ahead of the physical release, on November 13th.

Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames will be available across the typical variety of formats, including Booster boxes and Bundles. This set's Elite Trainer Box features Mega Charizard X in tones of blue, and will include nine boosters together with the usual assortment of energy cards, card sleeves, and other gameplay accessories, as well as an illustration-rare style promo card of Charcadet.
