Some MEs we didn't see or were underused in XY (which is quite a bit).

Also...I kinda want to make a return appearance so he can get his comeuppance ;)

Plenty, but I don't think any of them will get one. We may have no new Megas, but I don't really know.

Nidos, Dragonite, Typhlosion

If they could get Alola forms instead, that'd be cool, too. (still may not happen)

Oh, I forgot I was in the anime section. Ummm...heck, I don't know. Megas don't seem like a concept suited for what's going on. If they are, they are once again tied to the villain plot and/or UBs. We may see a sort of primer on how Megas work in some form. Whoever is most convenient.

We probably just get the previous mega evolutions. I am starting to doubt that we would get new ones.

Sure looks that way, don't it?

While there are heap plenty Pokémon who could have Mega-Evolutions, there's just no indication of it. Plus, Alolan forms more or less have it covered.

Alola forms are different though. Mega evolution provides a 100 boost to BST aside from Alakazam. Alola forms are pokemon of Kanto (so far) that adapted in the Alola region. There is no suggest of them getting a boost in BST like mega evolution has.

But mega evolutions are confirmed. Why wouldn't we get new ones

This doesn't in any way suggest that we will be seeing new Mega Evolutions - all it proves is that the ones that already exist will still be in SM, which I think most people were already assuming anyway.

Sometimes I regret killing off a character in the first episode they appear, but I express my regret by bringing them back with no decent explanation.

And thus Mega Kangaskhan and Oranguru destroyed the universe. The end.

Death by Kanguru

Because it seems kind of late in the game to announce new Mega Pokemon. It's still possible that they could do that, but with all of the focus on new Pokemon, new features like Z-Moves and the Alola Pokemon, it seems unlikely that we'll get new Mega Pokemon for Sun/Moon at this point.

It does confirm that Mega Pokemon will be in the games, which is good and important, but I don't think we'll get new Mega Pokemon and I'm okay with that. I think that's probably a good thing so that they can focus on the new Pokemon and new features for this generation. Obviously, they won't want to get rid of Mega Pokemon. It's way too useful in regards to marketing older Pokemon and making older Pokemon more useful in competitive gameplay. They'll probably save any new Mega Pokemon for remakes, as well as possibly whatever comes after Sun/Moon and that might be for the best. That way, remakes can stand out a bit more with Mega Pokemon taking the place of new Pokemon during pre-release season and they can focus on new Pokemon/new features for a new generation instead. It could be a good way to handle Mega Pokemon without providing too many of them in a short amount of time or having them overshadow new Pokemon as well.

Seriously, why is this should even be confirmed to begin with? Mega are essentially new Pokemon (albeit from last gen). Just because the new games don't advertise them =/= they will not exist anymore.

This should never have been an issue if it weren't for some bored competitive people who got tired of Mega Kangaskhan theorizing/wishing (spreading rumors) about it just to gain views and fame.

I still would be satisfied if they just fixed Mega Gallade in S/M and do a D/P remake next, where they add like 30 new megas (including Luxray and Weavile). But I wouldn't be mad if there were new megas in sm (wink wink)

You'd think that, but no, some people on Pokémon forums are willing to delude themselves that far, although people here seem much more open to it.

Tbh I feel like Megas will just become remake fodder, but if we do get any Megas in SuMo it'll probably be a few or a preview like the Mega Latis that you can't actually get.

If Mega Evolution is in fact returning, then I am very much hoping for a Mega Dragonite. I NEED a mega Dragonite.

Yeah, I don't see much of a reason why Megas even needs to be confirmed to be in the games. They are part of the evolution concept now, so I don't think they will go away anytime soon.

They can go ahead and improve how you get the Stones though, I mean why can't be buy them for example? Or why are some only available through distributions, or certain requirements. I feel like they're being made super special exclusive when they really shouldn't, but it might just be me.

Anyway, I HOPE we'll get to see some Megas, I wants to see more.
