Mega Lucario is scheduled to join the fray on September 28
The release date for Mega Lucario, the next Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE has been updated — Originally scheduled to join the fray on October 3rd, it will now be available to play one week earlier, from September 28th. Mega Lucario will be a separate license from Lucario's existing Unite License. It will be an All-Rounder. At the time of writing, no further details have been officially announced.

Mega Lucario was originally revealed to be joining Pokémon UNITE on October 3rd (now updated to September 28th), along with Mega Charizard X on October 24th, and two more Mega Evolved Pokémon joining the fray by the end of this year.

At present, more details on how the Mega Evolution mechanic will work for these Pokémon, as they are already playable in the game without Mega Evolving, have not been specified, other than the fact that Mega Evolved Pokémon will be a separate license from current Unite license. Additionally, Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution will have their specific Mega Stone set as a fixed Held Item. This change will also apply to the currently available Mewtwo (X) and Mewtwo (Y) licenses, which will have Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y set as a fixed Held Item, respectively. This will automatically override the Held Item in the far left slot of the loadout. Additionally, since Mewtwo (X) and Mewtwo (Y) will now be treated as separate Unite Licenses (meaning they can be selected on the same team, and if one is banned in a draft, the other can still be chosen), we can expect that Mega Lucario and Mega Charizard X will also be treated the same way.
