Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has now officially announced the new expansion, "Mega Rising" (「メガライジング」), the first in the game's "B Series", which is set to launch worldwide on worldwide next week on Thursday October 30th at 6:00am (UTC) / Wednesday October 29th at 11:00pm (PDT), along with revealing a selection of events and new app features coming to the game throughout November. The expansion will introduce Mega Evolved Pokémon ex to the game, and was originally teased during the 2025 Pokémon World Championships closing ceremony. Fans received their first look at booster packs from this expansion when the "How to play" section on the game's official Japanese website was updated (and swiftly reverted back) earlier than intended. Similar to how they work in the physical game, these Mega Evolved Pokémon ex will give up 3 points when they are knocked out, reflecting the sheer degree of power they can be expected to wield. This may make many matches featuring them into effectively 5 point matches, with the Mega Pokémon acting as a massive wall to the final point. The booster packs feature the same three Pokémon whose cards were previewed in the closing ceremony trailer, namely Mega Blaziken, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Altaria.

The new Mega Rising expansion includes over 200 new cards. Specific cards seen in the trailer include (in order of appearance):
  • Magikarp
  • Combusken
  • Swablu
  • Mega Gyarados ex
  • Mega Blaziken ex
  • Mega Altaria ex
