Well this is something I just thought of: What if in the games when you obtain a mega stone you can have it put it into an accessory for your pokémon to wear like in the anime. Now I'm not saying it would have to be mandatory just something you can choose to do. In other words you can use it as either a held item or an accessory and if you do choose to use it as an accessory you can choose which kind of accessory it is (headgear, arm band, necklace etc.) and even choose the color and design. There wouldn't necessarily have to be a wide variety of choices for each pokémon just a few.

It sounds like it'd be a bit cumbersome, design-wise... but I do love the picture of a Houndooom in a mega collar, an Abomasnow in a mega belt, or the little Kangaskhan wearing its mega watch, so I can't say I'd object.

Just in general, actually, I'd really love hold items to be a bit more visual, now we've moved from sprites to models. Again, cumbersome, so much work - but I'd love to see the pokémon floating with an air balloon, or grounded with their lagging tail, or wearing the silk scarf or the choice band or the black glasses or the assault vest. Competitive would hate it, of course, gives the game away right from the start, but it'd be worth it for something angry and monstrous like an Exploud holding a silly little balloon with its legs dangling uselessly a couple of centimetres above the ground.

I'd enjoy it, anyway.

Okay we're just talking about mega stones. I never said anything about every held item being visible. And really what I'm thinking is that if you choose to use the mega stone as an accessory then it wouldn't count as a held item an thus allowing your pokémon to hold a different item while at the same time retaining the ability to mega evolve.

I'd love for my Pokémon to have the accessories shown in the anime. But honestly, I'd rather the Key Stones get customizable accessories. I'd love to get Korrina's Mega Glove, or Diantha's Mega Necklace (Charm, whatever) or even Lysandre's actual Mega Ring (it's actually a ring on his finger, as opposed to our bracelet named the Mega Ring)

Considering it was coded into the game in some form as an item (Mega Ring, Mega Glove and Mega Necklace, yes guess who has them but they were coded as items) but never used it is possible to have them customizable in the future.

I would also like to see it anyway, the more customization the better!

I know you didn't, I said that bit!

I do think the mega stone has to go in their item slot, though. Mega pokémon with other hold items is a brilliant hell I scarcely dare imagine.

I'd love this, as I'd like my Pokémon to wear its Mega Stone as a necklace or the like. Maybe a ring for someone like Golurk... if the big guy gets a Mega. But yeah, this would be pretty cool.

That would be AWESOME! Especially if the design were complimentary to each stone's color combination. Though of course that would take WAY more time to devlop and probably be full of glitches, but still...

I think that would be cool customization wise. I'd certainly like letting my Pokemon were accessories. However, I doubt they'd ever make it so you can Mega Evolve and hold a separate item since you'd be extremely overpowered and I figure that would be bad for the competitive world. If you could wear the Mega Stone as an accessory and it was still counted as an item, I think that would be fine.

Personally, I wouldn't like Mega Stones (or other items for that matter) to be visible because it would be a nightmare for competitive battles, where sometimes, what item a Pokémon is holding can reveal the way that particular Pokémon was raised or a whole team's strategy.

Absolutely not. A Pokémon having to use its Held Item slot to hold a Mega Stone is a great way of balancing out the massive stat boost Mega Evolutions get. Do you really want to see the likes of Choice Scarf Mega Garchomp or Choice Band Mega Kangaskhan running around?

No one likes haters. And besides who said items like that would actually have an effect during Mega evolution? It could be that the item's affect is nullified while the pokémon is mega evolved. The point of mega stone accessories is to let the pokemon hold a different item without giving up the ability to mega evolve, I never said anything about the item having an effect during mega evolution.

Um, he wasn't hating. And your comment here makes no sense whatsoever; why would you hold an item if you can't use it? Just... WHY?

If all held items were made visible, graphics would have to be created for pokemon which aren't holding an item anyway, so surely PvP battles could be programmed to use the itemless images so that held items weren't visible to the opponent?

Lugia trainer, You never said that the other held item wouldn't have an effect during Mega evolution, so don't assume that everyone should understand that you mean that the effect would be nullified.
